Will 5AT shocks fit on 6MT?

Hi there guys,

I'm in the process of closing a deal to buy 2005 5AT shocks/struts (all four) to put in my 2005 6MT which now has Teins. This is for winter. Will the 5AT shocks fit? The part number on the any Acura parts site is different. Please let me know. Thanks!

Rob

check the tein website and see if they take the same SS

Part numbers that are way different between years indicate changes

That's a great suggestion! Looks like they are the same on the Tein website. So I hope the OEM shocks/struts are also the same.

Thanks!

if the teins fit both cars with the same part #- you will be fine

I'm just worried that since the automatic and manual don't weigh the same, maybe the OEM parts change the dampening depending on the model... oh well, I guess I have to take the chance!

Why don’t you just crank up those Teens?

I guess some people want the 1.5 inch extra clearance back for winter
Looks like I should list my stockers on the black market

Yeah, last year I cranked up the Teins and it was terrible. First of all, it doesn't go up that much. Secondly, it's hell to do, and thirdly, when spring comes around, they are terribly jammed, and you have to remove them from the car to adjust them anyway. So instead, I bought myself a compressor and some air tools and I'm just going to swap the suspension twice a year.

I'm 90% positive they'll fit. I think the main difference between the two are that the MT is a little more stiffer than AT. Anyone want to add to that?

First is reasonable, but may be you can live with as much as you get with just cranking up. Second should not be a problem if you clean treads and use spring compressors to relax pressure. It must be easier to do that than to swap complete suspension. Don’t forget rear seat.

You're right that the full swap is a big deal. But I've done it a few times now and it's not THAT bad. And I really need more height. With the Ron Jon side skirts, I need to get higher with the snow. I remove my Ron Jon front bumper and put the OEM bumper at least...

Quite a big job. I wish I had a beater, but can't afford it.

I took my back seat today to adjust the damping on my SS and it wasn't that bad. It just took me a while to find a way to take those two screws on top of the backrest thru the opening under the headrest
