WIll 18X8 with 40mm offset work?
its on an ebay auction and the guy has 1000+ feedback and he says it will fit. will it fit if i put on smaller tires? and i'm on stock height... maybe if i get them and they dont fit i can report him to ebay?
If you really want them, buy them, then grind off 10mm off the inner hub. That will give them a 50mm offset... as long as the wheels are strong enough to grind 10mm off (what is that, 1/3 inch?).
I strongly suggest you don't go with 18X8 w/40-mm. I have the same specs on my rims and haven't trimmed the bumper tab or dropped it yet. I get occassional rubbing when I have people in the back on certain roads. I would shop around a little more and get 18X8 w/50mm offset if you want to stay with the same diameter and width. IMO, the less trimming you have to do on the car or the wheels the better.
