well, it depends... rims with lips usually look smaller.
3-piece wheels with lip and bolts look even smaller.
i think the all around wheel gap with the TL is just too
large.
personally, i don't think a body kit will make it look bigger,
only smaller... i think if you want them to look bigger, your
going to have to drop your car a lot more.

It's all about your spokes..
the way the center bolt area is so big.. and the slit in the each of the spokes not going all the way to the outer rim..
and how the spoke itself doesn't go all the way to the rim before it slants off..
Volks are some the best looking / quality wheels you can get.
But these wheels seem like that to me..

The way the spokes curve in at the end creates a shadow that creates a visual loss of about an inch. When i bought the Katana Spazio rims, they were 18 inches, but the spoke came in at the end making a shadow that killed the size of the rim. Plus the lip creates an additional shadow. And like previously stated the inner part of the rim is "fat" leaving the spkoes looking short. It's all about how shadows hit the rims. That's why i bought the rims i have below over the Spazios. The spoke comes all they way to the end. But if your spoke didnt taper in like that, the shadow wouldnt be there and they would look way bigger. People think i have 19's some times. BTW those are nice rims.

I shoot people
hey, don't feel bad.... I have 19s and occasionally I get people saying... "Hey... nice wheels... are they 18s?"
At a TL meet in Jan. 02' I can't remember what wheel someone had... but they were 18s and dark colored... They actually looked like 19s!!! I think they were the multi-spoke wheels... like OZ superleggera..... or somehting... But usually they are compliments
Someone else mentioned about having 3 piece wheels with lip? That's exactly what I have..... But I still love them.. And NO, don't get a kit... It will only make it look smaller....

Yeah, a lip does tend to break up the size definition.
Look at it the other way, BlackShadow has 17" Chrome Giovanni's flat and straight to the tire, no lip. Everyone who has seen his car when he slams it swears they are 18's.
