Buy another brand. From what I hear, with the soft sidewall construction you'll be better off.

Call local Continental tire dealers, local tire shops or repair/suspension shops that have balancing equipment-- many can order the tires if they don't stock them, and some will price-match Tire Rack and Discount Tire.

Just remember to calculate the prices with shipping, mounting, balancing, etc. to figure out the OTD price.

Don't get thsoe tires. Theysuck. I had them and the sidewalls are way too soft. They can mess up your rims if you hit a pothole at regular speed. I hit a bump once and the side wall blew out.

Dont waste your time with those tires. Get OEM or close to OEM.

If this tires aren't that good, any other sugeestions? How about Eagle GT they were rated #5. The Continentals were rated #1 and the price was right too. This rating scale came from tirerack.com

I know they got good reviews over at tirerack and the price is right; which is why I got them but don't get them.

I too am still looking for a good tire but still nothing. Everyone I talk to about this tells me to stick with OEM recomendations. Oem are made for your specific car.

I might go with OEM also but the price is very high.

Looking to get new rims again. That's why I am looking for the right tire at the right price.

Tire preference depends on one's priorities. The OEM tires were the best compromise of low noise, lower wear, high MPG and decent all-weather traction. If one's priorities are different, i.e. more dry traction, etc., then one can choose an aftermarket tire that is better aligned with one's priorities. Aftermarket wheels will require consideration of non-OEM tires.
There are a number of tire threads in this forum if you want to see preferences for summer tires, snow tires, etc.

The Navi-equipped TL came with Michelin MXM4s, the non-Navi cars had Bridgestone EL-42 Turanzas and I think the summer tire option was the Bridgestone RE-050.

All-season tires such as the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 A/S, Bridgestone Pole Position 960 A/S and Yokohama Advan S4 are high up on the Tire Rack ratings and have fans here, as does the Conti DWS.

FYI: both the OEM Michelins and Bridgestone tires suck big time and they are well over $200 per tire to replace and they ride and handle lousy so I wouldn't recommend them for a bicycle let alone a TL!!

If you don't want the DWS's I'd recommend going with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus or Pirelli PZero Nero All Seasons for UHP tires; if you want HP tires, I'd recommend Michelin Pilot Exalto's, and if you just want a Grand Touring tire, I'd recommend Kumho Ecsta LX Platinums or Michelin Primacy MXM4 if you can afford them!!

Best of Luck!!!

I got the DWS and they are good tires. I got them just as they were phasing out the ContiExtremeContact tires. Compared to those the sidewall is softer, BUT they have better lateral grip. So I think that's why the sidewall is softer. For more lateral grip. And this is useful.

I think continental make a DW tire. It's similar to the DWS. You might be able to find those.
