Wheels - I know I know

Wheels And Tire Forum -- but sometimes it takes a while to get a response there...

MR5

17x7 +40mm 24.5lbs
8H (4-100 / 4-4.5) 10H (5-100 / 5-4.5)
Finishes: Silver, Chrome
Will that Offset be ok with no rubbing etc? I just want to be able to bolt them on and go - no probs? Can that be done?
Does $476 for 4 of those sound good?
is that heavy or light or avg. for wheels?
THANKS

HOW do u think they'd look -- I think they're pretty sweeet?

those gold rivets do not go with chrome.

Those are cheap wheels IMO to put on the TL, i'd ratehr stick with stock.

Yeah, i don't know anything about offset or whatever but I agree the Gold doesn't go with the chrome, but other than that I think the rim is pretty sweet though!

Gold rivets aside ---- what about offsets/sizes/etc. for the TL --- what would I look for in a 17" RIM in order to be able to bolt on and go -- can u give me some ranges, specs, reccomends??
thanks

Yup..gotta agree. +43 or better....remember our stock offset is +55 so the closer you get to that the better.

For $470, i think you are getting the silver finish ones rather than the chrome. I have seen these rims in person and they are ok looking and not great. If are looking for that style of rim for with the Giovanna Corsicas, they look much cleaner and classier with a deeper dish. Also, if you are oing with 17" rims try to look for some where the rims goes to the edges. IMO, 17" rims with the two piece look just look too small. Thats the reason I moved up to 18" rims.

If 5/4.5 means 5/114 then they should be OK in a 7 inch width. I would go higher than 43 to be safe though.

If not, it is the wrong bolt pattern then.

17's that weigh 24.5lbs seem kinda heavy to mean,
but thats a pretty good price though.

So what's a good weight to shoot for?
Not necessarily real light -- but avg.?
What are the stock 16's?

Costco carry Montegi wheels!!!!

I know Montegi has a website (who doesn't?... anyway), I couldn't find it... but they have a chart that tells... pretty much every wheel's spec and what wheel fits what (car). But I couldn't find it. Just so you know... believe it or not, they carry Montegi wheels at Costco (in the tire/wheel dept. they don't have them in stock but they can order them)!!! I didn't see the MR5 in their display, but they could order it for you... try it, you might save some $$$. I know this, cause I was thinking about the MR7, but decided not to go with it. I guess they have some kinda "hotline" or direct number you can call to ask if that wheel will fit or not...

Nate weighed his stocks once and I think they were like 28-29.

Definitely not light. Do a search and you should find it.

I have 17" Giovanna Madrid II with a 45 mm offset and no rubbing at all.

BTW, are the stock wheels 26-28 lb with or without the tire???
