Wheel touch-up paint stock rims P/N 08703-nh623mah 3G Garage #D-082

Just in case you happen to scratch your stock rims this is the color match that will cover the scratch. I discovered it by accident after calling the dealer today and asking if they had any in stock to find out that Acura doesn't make it... , he said he could have the rims fixed...right.
I noticed a scratch on one of my rims right where the center cap is and I attribute it to my recent trip to the tire store to get my PZeros mounted, some paint chipped off .
Last week I had a friend who drives a '03 TL-S buy some touch up paint for me to fix some of the chips on his hood before I applied some coats of wax as I was to detail his car.
I asked if I could see if I could get a match on my rims and thank GOD a perfect match so I just wanted to share the code of the paint color, the # was directly off the bottle....

Sorry I don't know since I've never seen an Aspec wheel, but you can call the call the dealer to find out if these are the same shade and if so then you got your answer.....funny how Honda doesn't want you to know the shade or at least market "touch up paint" for wheels....

Great find. Does anyone know if this is available in a spray can, or is it brush-on only. Thanks

Scratched TL Wheel

My experience with touching-up a scratched TL rim:

1st attempt used Acura "Satin Silver Metallic" NH623MAA: OK but not perfect match. FYI: This is a TL color.

2nd attempt used Acura "Billet Silver Metallic" NH689MAA: Better match but still not perfect. FYI: This is an MDX color.

Eventually, I had the wheel professionally repaired for $78.00 resulting in an exact color match.

I found a store that does custom mix of paint based on paint code or color swatches and puts the paint in a large aerosol can, only cost me CDN$25 plus tax, I used NH623M paint code and it's more than close enough.

Another sister store has the machine to read the color, I might go there some time and get them to read off the rim (before I get tires put on them) and see if they can get a better much, and how much different it is from the NH623M.

If anybody is interested, the store I went to is Car Quest on Speer Road in Oakville, Ontario, and the store with the paint color reader is Car Quest in Hamiton.

P/N 08703-NH623MAH Ordered

I just put in an order for some of the P/N 08703-nh623mah for my silver 18' wheels. Will see if it is a good match for that curb rash.

It may be (according to this thread). I just ordered some of it online to see if it's true. After I try it out I'll post and let you know it is a good match or not.

FYI - I found a curb rash wheel restoration / repair kit from permatex. $20 at wal mart Canada. Its really just a small tube of over priced bondo with a can of paint inside. I checked the MSDS sheet on this product & compared it to the MSDS on bondo. It's all very similar. Which is glue & filler are the main ingredients.

i can confirm without a doubt tht duplicolor nh623 satin silver is an exact match to the 2007 base wheels for a TL. once i touched the paint brush to the wheel i knew it was a match. i will apply clear coat tomorrow & i hope it will look even better. i hope this helps someone. hoping to give back to the community. i've saved so much because of acurazine! acura still suck for reliability nowadays though.

FYI - Turns out NH623 will dry darker than the OEM wheel color. I mixed it 6:1 with some white & it now matches within a hair. Wet sand & clear coat is next.

This story ends with a strange twist. The duplicolor spray can paint NH623 is basically an exact match. However, the canned paint will react with the factory paint causing deep wrinkles. Don't bother unless you're going to need only a thin coat or touch ups.

NH623 not a close match unfortunately

I bought this paint code over the weekend and painted 1 set of 4 rims (I have 2 sets of 05-08 generation rims) and after letting them dry for a couple days, put them side by side with the other set and they came out more metallic and darker compared to the whiteish silver of the OEM paint. They look okay but not close to that OEM color we all love. On a black car, those OEM whiteish silver rims contrast really nice but with this paint code, the contrast is not as nice. Will be using these for winters, still going to continue searching for a close or perfect match.
