Question Wheel/tire guru's...your assistance is required

5-Zigen Sports Engine SC3000 HB - Hyper Black - 19" x 8.5" - 45 - 5/114.3
5-Zigen Sports Engine SC3000 HB - Hyper Black - 19" x 9.5" - 45 - 5/114.3
Falken FK-452 - 245/40ZR19 REINF 98 Y - BW
Falken FK-452 - 255/40ZR19 REINF 100 Y - BW

Looking very hard at this wheel/tire combo.....06 5AT....will eventually do a BBK so I'm trying to consider that aspect as well. Am also looking to do a drop with Tein SS w/EDFC. See any flaws I'm missing with this combo? Any help for the newb would be appreciated.

flaws... yes... many...

First...
Front wheel, should be 19 x 8.5 +38 , not +45... +38 WILL clear the BBK (brembos, which are bigger that the Rotora kit)

Rear Wheel, i didnt know they made a +45... but if so, get that offset

Tires are way tooo big

Front tires - 235/35/19 or 245/35/19
Rear tires 245/35/19 or 255/35/19

255/35/19... might NOT rub with the +45 offset in the rear... but it might... 245 should not rub at all, but you will have to stretch it a bit to get it on the wheel

nice wheels though

Like Blackura stated, he's pretty much dead on. 245s you will not have any issues. Only thing to think about is are you gonna slam it? if yes, I would recommend 225s up front

Question Muchas gracias gurus...

Thanks fellas.......knew I could count on AZ's finest to get me squared away on my purchase. I was thinking 40 series because of sh*tty roads around here combined with ride comfort. If I don't drop the car, would a 40 series still be too big? The amount I drop will be determined by how the wheels/tires fill up the wheel wells.....purely for aesthetics. I'm way more concerned about ride quality than handling, since my other vehicle is a 1-ton diesel pick-up....rough riding SOB to say the least The TL has got to stay my comfy cruiser, but needs to look good doing it

Question

Sounds like I might have to stick with 18's to accomplish my "comfort" goal? Could keep a 40 aspect ratio and not sweat the "rub" if I slam it an inch or two? Unfortuantely, that wheel is only offered in an 18x7.5, which sucks cause I'd like to run a wider skin

Here's the link I was looking at for available 5Zigen wheels... 1010 5Zigen wheels

Falken Ziex ZE-912 - 245/40R18 REINF 97 W - BW
5-Zigen Sports Engine SC3000 HB - Hyper Black - 18" x 7.5" - 43 - 5/114.3

Can you think of a better tire to run than 452's? 912's seem to get a pretty good rating? Money's not really an object on tires, since those wheels are pretty reasonable...more concerned with all-weather handling since it does rain on occasion here in the greater Seattle area

18 x 7.5 is tooo thin for the 3G.. .stock wheel is 8" wide

245/35/19 doesnt ride too bad at all on these cars....

dropping the car or not, putting a tire too big on (i.e., 245/40/19) is dangerous.. the overall diameter is too much bigger.. you should never go over like 3%... a combo like that is like 5-6% too big.. it will throw off the VSA, ABS and really impact your speedo... also, thats like 40 or 50 revs less per mile

if you want a 40 wall , you gotta get 18s

Thumbs up

Thanks Blackura.....looking at my 18" options now....Axis Penta comes to mind in 18x8. Sooooooo many friggin' choices...I better get the A-Spec body and CF spoiler on and then see what wheel/drop to buy....

Notice you're running FK452's on your 20's in the BM......you pretty happy with that tire choice?
