wheel spacers

Hello all. I'm a newbie to the site; and a newbie to aftermarket and performance upgrades in general. In my ignorance, I bought a set of chrome Limited 800 wheels from wheelsnext.com for my 2004 acura tl. I told the salesman that I had a manual transmission, but I didn't tell him that I had the brembo brakes. Hell, I didn't even know what that was at that time. To make a long story short, the wheels wouldn't fit. Wheelsnext.com won't take them back. So I have to make the best of the situation, right? After conducting a few experiments, I found that the wheels will fit with 10mm spacers. The problem now, is that the studs are too short. So I found a 25mm hub-centric spacer with studs. This fits. How safe is this?

Welcome to the forums.

You have to get a host for your pictures, like Photobucket, and upload them there. That's why your picture didn't show. Check out this thread for tips on How To Post Pictures.

Best thing would be to replace them for proper ones. It may help if you insist on REPLACEMENT with wheelsnext.com. Proper ones should have 45 mm offset (or as close as possible), 45 mm between mounting surface and spokes in order to clear Brembos. This two numbers are same just incidentally and have nothing to do with each other.

Before I can say anything about spacers I need to know more about wheels you got. Width and offset at least. Generally, if you have to use spacers you should use the smallest that would solve your problem, just replace studs with longer ones.

Your picture didn’t come on because it first has to be uploaded to some web site that allows linking and than linked to your post (just as you did). May be this one:

I thought that might be the case. I will delete the other screen name, and delete these posts after you have seen them.

If you click OUOTE at the bottom of that post you can see one way to put picture in your post.

On the picture you can see cross section of TL’s front wheel with Brambos. All measures are in millimeters. First 45 from left is the one you have problem with. You can make a template with those dimensions and check any wheel for clearing Brembos before you put it on.
