WHEEL PICS: 3g TL's on 18's combo ONLY!

IDK if its a repost or been asked before... I have searched hi~n~lo and 99% of what I have found all roll on 19s in any and all shapes and sizes refering to offsets etc. I have banged my head on the wall and computer desk over this issue... I am pretty much narrowing my decision down to 18s. OEM fit or staggered, that is now the newest mind busting choice. 18s or 19s was a hard enough decision alone after seeing some of you guys rides (sitting on 19s) ever since signing up here last month. You gentlemen have some of the nicest TL's I have ever seen! Hats off!

Now, Please don't line me up on a firing squad if this is a repost or has been asked for before... I don't care what color your car is (preferably NBP) but please post pics, angles and #s of your set up. REMEMBER, 18S ONLY!

^ your dubs are NICE...But Ehhhhh...too big. and for some reason that 1 inch difference make a huge difference. I really like 19s but not sure if I wanna sacrifice ANYTHING for sexiness...SLAM? How low? Thats just exactly what I want to see and get a better perspective on with some help from members here posting 18s ONLY pics. U know?

If you go to the 3G Garage, WHEELS TIRES SUSPENSION, there's a sticky thread where people post their pics. I recently upgraded from 18's to 19's because I got a KILLER deal on some work wheels. IMO, 19's are the PERFECT size wheel for the fender opening on a 3G TL. Ride quality, HONESTLY, is the same on the 18's as a 35 series tires 19. No difference. I'm on TEIN SS lowered almost all the way down...I can read, but to play the Devils' Advocate I'll post both.

18" Aspec

19" Work Emotion XC8 (same drop, no fender rolling etc)

You can try and convince my GF, but I'll warn you...she may CUT YOU.

Honestly man, I always said I wouldn't change the Aspecs (they came with the car since my stepfather first leased it) but after a while I DID get tired of seeing other TL's with the same wheels. That and the DEAL I got on the Works. Plus, I knew my gf would enjoy having them on her car. I had like 15 people ask me if I was selling them (especially since they're the 8.5" wide ones). You can find Aspec wheels all over the BM though if you look.

Good luck, man!
J.

PS...I NEVER would have gone straight to 19's. My last 2 cars I always go up ONE inch each time...EP had 16's, got 17...RSX had 17, got 18's...Now the TL has 18's, wanted 19's.

My next car, more than likely a 2011 5.0 Mustang will probably have 20 by 8 front and 20 by 10 rear and a PERFECT drop.
19's really do fill in the wheelwell the most perfectly on this car though. It's all about finding the right wheel...and getting something with spokes that go all the way to the lip, otherwise wheels look much smaller than they actually are.

Ahhh... I drive a Honda/ACURA But my heart will always bleed blue! MY BLOOD WILL ALWAYS bleed blue! I AM BORN AND RAISED AND RACED! Mustang Fan! I have owned some pretty rare and sick ponies in my time...Just got rid of a Fox and before that just last year, Dearborn, Mi born SVT's main plant/#1406 2003 COBRA Mustang 10th ANNIVERSARY and before that, the cleanest daily driven 11.80s Fox Mustnag retired FLORIDA SSP Mustang you have ever seen... and on and on... The 2011 is HOT! That Coyote 5.0 motor is no dam joke. And I am positive like years past, FORD has put a choke on the motor and if you mess around with it some I am sure you can release some big HP really qk and ez. GL with your future ride!

Wow, that's an impressive list! Growing up ALL my friends had fox bodies, a few 86's but mostly 87+ coupes, a few hatch's and convertible. LX 5.0, not GT's.

Either way, I've NEVER owned one, but I want one. And now that there seems to be an adoption of some other technology to yield better MPG, I'm in!

Anyway, good chatting, and good luck with the wheel hunt!

^ I love those shoes to! But IMO when u find em for sale ppl are asking way to much money for...what reality is, STOCKERS. I just can't find myself paying $800-1000+ for em... But I do love em! Especially on that color and NBP when dropped.

Well, I bought my set for about $1,000, which is a pretty good deal given the MSRP, which is $1,700.

I get it...just passing on my experience. I kept thinking they would come down more too. When they came down to the level I bought them at (new), I decided I'd waited long enough. We all have our personal economic utility curves. It just so happened that my the point at which I was willing to spend $'s to get the look I wanted happened to be $1,000 (plus the $900 for tires...but that's another story).

I know...it's also why the wheels sat in my garage for several months while I set aside the money for the tires. The whole thing took some explaining to my wife.

Anyway, thanks for the compliment and best of luck on your decision. I'm very happy with how mine turned out, but I understand the reluctance to spend a ton of money on this.

I think he just means that are manufacturer items versus high-end aftermarket ones.

Do those a-specs come in any other colors? I'm looking for the silver finish or something lighter like that.

Here's the thread where I was making the decision - https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/need-suggestions-summer-tires-764519/

Previously, I was running Goodyear Eagle F-1 GS-D3's on my 17inch wheels (and they were a bit more expensive than the Bridgestones).

what do u guys think of SATIN/EBONY (same finish as yours ^^^) 18x8 A-SPEC wheels w/tires 3 of 4 60-75% tread and 1 almost new with approx 85% tread and all TPS included mounted and balanced and shipped to my door for $600.00 (minor wear and tear few minor curbage and imperfections in the finish EX. scratche and chips) U know...LOL!

What u think?

The reason why I am asking cuz for a example those 3 start wheels above are going for $1100 shipped... Examples like this come my way all the time...Patience is my problem. I am always wanting to jump on every dam deal...LOL

600 sounds like a great deal...especially if the finish is someting you want. Shoot, it would cost you more to JUST replace tires on your car. AND you get TPMS.

I say jump on it. Then you'll have your 18's and you will be content.
