Wheel fitment guru's, a couple of questions.

I have a friend with a set of Prodrive PFF7's that I'd like to fit onto my 2007 TL. His wheels specs are 18 x 8 +51, 114.3. However, the PFF7 center bore is much smaller than the TL's at 2 & 3/16 (not sure the center bore size on the TL).

I'm thinking I can get a spacer with the PFF7 center bore on one side, and the TL's center bore on the other side, making it hubcentric. I need a 6mm spacer to make up the 6mm offset difference anyway.

My questions:

1. Is +45 the optimal offset for the TL? And I'm talking about performance, and looks. Stock suspension, no specs, completely stock car. However, I like that low-offset look. So, having said that, can I do a +40 and get away with it easily?

2. Does anyone know where I can get a set of these custom hubcentric rings made?

3. Am I nuts, or do people do this all the time?

Pix of the wheels I'm trying to fit:

Thanks for any info!

This is what I'm calling center bore by the way, maybe I have the incorrect name for it.

I call it a hub bore, but I've heard both terms before

The hub bore for the TL is 64.1mm.

It seems like you're going out of the way to make these fit. You could just get a set of wheels that are guaranteed to work right out of the box and save yourself a headache.

As for offset, a +40 will be fine since you're at stock height. It's only 5mm more aggressive than stock.

Hubcentric rings can be found on eBay, but I would check with our vendors such as Heeltoe Automotive or Excelerate Performance to see if they offer any.

Dude, you're awesome!

Personally I would prefer a set of XXR-530's, but I can get this wheel/tire combo for $600. Tires are Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's with half of their life left, so it seems like a really good deal. Of course, this depends on the price of the spacers, and a set of TPM's, which I didn't ask about. Do people normally get those off of ebay, or do we have a vendor here that sells them as well?

Thanks!

Center bore for the PFF7 is 56.1 by the way.

The wheel I'm trying to fit on this car is 18 x 8" +51. Stock offset is +45. How low can I go with this wheel keeping everything else stock? Is +35 possible?

I know of a few people that have gone to eBay. Search around and see what you can find! I'm not sure if any of our vendors carry them but it's worth contacting them!

+35 isn't aggressive at all. I've seen people do 20mm spacers on stock wheels and be fine. However...

How low do you plan on going? What size tires are on the wheels? The lower you go, the more chance that you'll need aftermarket alignment parts (ball joints, rear arms, etc.).

The wheels are 18 x 8 +51, and the tires are 235/40/18. I'm thinking that the wheel/tire combo is absolutely optimal other than the offset. I'm using this car as my daily driver, so there will be no adjustments to the stock suspension at all. My question has always been; on an 8" wheel with a 235 tire, what is the perfect offset? I know Honda chose +45, but why? Is +35 going to cause that much more wear?
