Wheel Adapters

Just recently sold my Audi A4 and purchased a 2007 Acura TL Type S. When I sold my car I kept my custom 18's that were practically brand new. Has anyone used wheel adapters to convert from the Acura bolt pattern 5x114.3 to 5x112? My 18's have 235/40/18 tires with a 35mm offset. I'm new to the Acura scene so just barely getting a feel for the TL specs. I've seen wheel adapters in a thickness of 20mm, 1" and 1.25". Just would hate to have to start all over in purchasing a whole new set of wheels and tires if I have a brand new set in the garage. Any help is appreciated.

ebay has wheel adapters for that spec... for wheel adapters ebay no names are usually fine. The biggest problem is the offset your working with here even at 20mm (i didn't see any 20mm but apparently you have) thats gonna put you at a +15 offset front and rear, that is super aggressive... you might be able to make that work in the rear with some work (fender rolling, camber kit) but im not sure about the front. I don't know too much about fitment issues like that, go through the sticky at the top and find if anyone is running 235/40r18 with a +15 on front and rear... usually they say what it took to get it to fit as well. Are you dropped at all?

As you are aware, the 35mm offest will move the tire out 10mm or slightly less than 7/16", no problem, but when the adapter is added and now it becomes as 15mm offset as stated above, the tire will be moved out 1 3/16" from its stock location, way too far.

If the tires are that good, purchase a set of 18" wheels to your liking, mount the tires that were on the A4 wheels, sell the bare A4 wheels and then the TL-S wheels and tires to recoup the finances.

Sure does, something I overlooked as I had assumed it was an 8" wide wheel.
