What would YOU do? Change out Type S wheels for RonJon Insyres?

Guys, I don't know what to do. I have felt a mysterious gravitational pull to RonJon Inspyres for my 2007 Type S. But I have had more than one person say to NOT take off the Type S wheels. They say the wheels are part of the Type S look and should not be tampered with. Otherwise, you lose the Type S look. But I keep looking at the Inspyres over and over. For some reason, it's a very tough decision. First, I was going to wait until I needed new tires (since my car had only 700 miles on it when I bought it). Then switch over to 18" rims. Heck, if Rondy made Inspyres in 17", I would REALLY be undecided.

So I'm asking for input from the AcuraZine Nation.

Thanks in advance.

I was in the same boat as you, about a month ago...

Acura could've / should've done something far more dramatic (and attractive) with the wheels.
It's the only thing that I found truly disappointing about this car.

Get the Ron Jon's (and a lowering kit)... you won't be disappointed.

I personally didn't like the Type S wheels so much that I had the dealer switch to the stock wheels until I could get a hold of some A-specs. It is all in personal taste and what you want for your car!

I would've kept the Type-S rims if they weren't a puny 17 inches. I ended up getting 18's (not RJ's) and the car looks 10x better.

Man, I was on the same boat as you. I didn't like the Type S rims at first. But now since I lowered it bout 1.2in. its money in the bank and I think I'm gonna stick with it. But everyone has their own taste. If they made the Type S rims 18's, even better..... Just as long as you lower it, car is gonna look SICK REGARDLESS... It's a TL... Best car EVER! PEACE!

Guys, I REALLY appreciate your input on this. It seems like everyone is leaning towards the RonJon Inspyres. J-Steele said something about it would be nice if they made the Type S wheels in 18". Well, my dealership (Jay Wolfe Acura) DOES have the Type S wheels in 18"-they are the shiny chrome, but the exact same as the Type S honeycomb wheels. So what do you guys think of that option??? The shiny honeycomb wheels or the RonJons. I've got to say, I do love the Inspyres though....

JT and Trip...thanks for the suggestions on the liquid graphites.

When I looked at the RonJons, once I finally decided to look into them, then I couldn't decide between the 4 different types of Inspyres. Here's a picture of my car...are you sure the Liquid Graphites would look the best on the Silver Metallic?

PS: Mo...your TL looks awesome with the Devotions. I've had my eye on the Inspyres ever since I bought the car on New Years Day.

I wouldn't rock either personally. Everyone on zine and there mother rocks those Ron Jon's. If you are going to spend all that money get something that not everyone on here has.

I am 06 ASM and ended up going with the liquid silver leends. IMO the color match is a little nicer.

With that being said the tls is more agressive so the darker might look better. I know it is not asm but this picture did it for me.

Guys, I didn't realize this but the Satin Silver comes in 18" while the Liquid Graphites only come in 19". I was also thinking of going wider with 8.5" wheels and tires.

God, those Inspyres are like a disease.....

PLEASE be unique. The Inspyres aren't even all that appealing anyway, not to mention, if you click a thread in the photo gallery in here, chances are, it will have those wheels in there. For what you pay for those things, you could buy a much better looking wheel. If you are dead set on RonJons, go with the Legend IIs or something.

The only reason people say that is because the only time you see inspyres OR any set of ronjons is because we only see them on acurazine. I have not once seen any other car rollin on ronjons

Has anyone honestly seen any other 3G TL sporting inspyres... Besides at acurazine meets?

So like i said before get the liquid graphite inspyres and a drop

JT..I know what you mean. Here in Kansas City, there are NO Type S' around. Plus, you are right about seeing any rolling anything but stock wheels. Your TL looks awesome with the Inspyres.

By the way, I have a former brother in law that lives in Plano-awesome cat !!!

I appreciate your opinion, really, but please, stop knocking my company in every damn thread, people obviously like em, and you dissing my wheels is like calling my kids ugly. Now that ain't nice, is it? We get your point, now your beating a dead horse (in your book).

I'm in working on making more options available for the Acura vehicles, but it takes time since the wheels onbly sell to Acuras and a few Hondas (unlike the universal fitment, mass distributed TSW wheels), so the tooling fees need to be gradually payed off over a longer period of time. Also, we only sell our wheels to select Acura and Honda Dealerships and direct to customers, so we don't flood the market and whore out dozens of sets of wheels like the rest of the industry.

Back on the topic, I believe the Raven black machined Inspyres on the Silver TL is the best look, I have yet to even see that color combo on a Silver TL. check out the color combo on a different Acura:

Also, I have never seen anybody rockin any Ron Jons. They are very unique wheels, except maybe on azine. Other than that pretty much nobody has them.!

Regarding the Type-S wheels, my opinion is that:

Rondy...we love ya' man AND your products. Hey, thanks for the pic with the Black Ravens on a Silver TL. I'm going to check your website again for pics of a 3G TL with the Ravens on them. Hey, by the way, please put some pictures of an '07 and/or an '08 TL on your site with the Aero Kits on them. You sent me pics before and the nose's look awesome with the fog lights in them.

And ttribe....perfect !!! I've always called the Type S wheels a "honeycomb" design, but I think I like your idea better.

SB, as far as I see on RJ's site, only the Chrome and Satin Silver come in 18. I'd like to the Raven Black in 18 personally.

Damn JP...you are correct. I forgot about that. In fact, that was one of the reasons I was considering the Liquid Graphites or Silvers-because they came in 18". I remember your PM about wheel sizes, etc., so I felt like the 18's gave me the best of both worlds, not sacrificing ride and performance.

The Inspyres do absolutely nothing for me...the Legends, OTOH, are sweet!

But I still really like the OEM TL-S wheels....if they had come in 18s stock, I wouldn't have bought my A-Specs.

Great...now you guys are saying stay with the OEM wheels.
Hey Ramrod...what happened to your Avatar? Where's the puppy?
