What tires for 235/45ZR17 stock rims?
hi everybody, with the winter season fast approaching, I'm looking to get some new tires for the stock rims on an 06' TL. I would appreciate the help with two things: 1. suggestions of where to buy tires (I'm currently looking on tirerack.com) and 2. suggestions of which all-season tires I should get.
please keep in mind I'm trying to stay below $135 if possible. also, the two that I am looking at now are the Continental ContiExtremeContact and Yokohama AVID W4S.
thanks in advance and I appreciate the help!

Check out Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. They are on close out and heavily discounted. One of the highest rated UHP AS out there.
The "plus" version is the new replacement.

You seem to be on a tight budget, bang for the buck its hard to beat the BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S for $119 each

The Yoko AVID W4S is not bad also, I wouldn't get the Continental.

I think you'll like 'em. Especially at $109. They were $149 a week or so ago.
You think the $189-ish for the Pilot A/S Plus is shocking? Look up the tire that comes with car - the MXM4 "grand touring" - in 235/45-17. Freaking heart-attack pricing.

I just put those Michelin's on my car today. Got them from Tirerack, needed an alignment and was told to go to the dealer for that. The OEM tires would have cost my over $1400 with the alignment, I wound up spending $490 for the tires and another $245 for the alignment and mounting balancing, etc. for a total of $735.

I also called a couple of the authorized installers from the tirerack website and they didn't want to do the alignment either. But I definitely had alignment problems, that's why I needed the tires.

Update on the Michelin Pilots
Sorry for the duplicate post, but I wanted to make sure that people have had a chance to see my response.
Now that I've had a chance to drive the car a little on the streets, Highway and in the rain, I thought I'd share my thoughts on the tires.
So far they have been great, especially for the price I paid from Tirerack. They're quiet (I shut the radio off and drove around), they are really good in the rain, no problems at all. Drove a little on icy roads and found the adhesion to be excellent, as long as you remember that you're on ice. I even stomped on the brakes in the rain (I looked around and there wasn't anyone else on the road), and the brake response was excellent. A good replacement tire for the TL.
I really don't know why the OEM tires were so expensive.
All in all, you can't go wrong with these tires.

Thanks
