If you are looking for a value high-performance tire, I recommend the Yoko AVS ES 100.
They are relatively cheap ($80 for 225/50/16), have decent wet and dry handling, and are holding up very well after 20k miles. For the price, I don't know if you can beat them.

I dunno.
I'm in Vancouver bc Canada where there are no deals to be had.
But purchased a brand new set of 18" 235/40 General GMAX AS-03
For $167 per which is pretty good for Cdn pricing.
I had 245 18s before but didn't like the performance and
Wanted to match stock as best as possible.

so no one with opinions on falken or nitto tires?

Suzuka Master
Not the cheapest tires, but good values would be the replacement tire for the General UHP's and or the Hankook V12. I have experience with both and they are in my opinion the best bang for the buck.

good article...wish they tested more tires. tirerack seems to be monopolizing the online tire market so IDK if thier tests are biased or not. i still use it but i just wish they had sortable statistics for thier test to compare with all tires not just the 4 they compare

kinda of a vague statement there...there are sets of tires that cost over 1000 dollars and there are some that cost 400 dollars. this thread is about finding decent tires without spending top dollar. i dont even know why i bother with such ignorant posts.

2004 Acura TL
I have these, 235/35/19, great tires. The handling is great and they are super quiet. I have a set of Achilles i bought for my winter tires, was expecting the worst for $450 for all four. But i was really surprised. Probably the best tires for the price

the overexplainer
falken 512s suck. 912s, and "612"s (Americas tire exclusive) are decent for all season DD.
I'm going with the General G-Max AS-03 for my next set.
my old housemate had Riken raptors on his 06 Legacy GT that seemed to handle it well.

just picked up a set of hankook v12 at 160 per tire. these tires are awesome expected the grip but did not expect it to be so quiet and smooth. but maybe the comfort has to do with them being 255/40/18

I had a set of General Exclaim tires a few seasons back and they were good tires for the price. Tires in Toronto are twice as expensive and I purchased them for like $500 where the closest prices was $200-300 more. My brother loves Sumitomo HR.......summer performance tires and says they are freakin good for their price and meets all the extreme performance ratings with really good tread wear and Z speed ratings.
