What size of tire with Aspec wheels?
I've got Conti 245/40/17s on now, but just bought Aspec wheels from a member on here. I plan to lower my car on Tein SA coilovers soon, so that plays a role in the tire size. I'm probably going to get some Nitto Motivos. Will a 235/40/18 be safe? I don't care for the stretched look, I just don't want the tires to rub once I drop the car 1.75"-2". I can always roll my fenders too, but would it be better to get a 225/40/18? Thanks!

I'll teach you how to determine proper tire sizes.
visit http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator
and input stock tire specs, which are 235/45/17's
then you play around with tire sizes to figure out the same rolling diameter of stock tires.
but you dont even have the coilovers yet, so you dont even know how far you're going to lower it.
I would get the coilovers first, and adjust it to the height you want it! and then make adjustments with fender pulling, tires, fender shaving, etc.

I got a good deal on the Aspecs, so I pulled the trigger on them first, and now I need to get tires while Discount Tire still has their Labor Day sale.
Will 245/40/18 tires be a safe bet? I've looked at old threads and I've seen people running 225, 235, 245 and even 255.

I kept it stock.. 235/40/18. general g-max. but my a-specs are 18x8. this is stock tire ratio to 235/45/17 as per our

I run 245/40/18.
Just got my Continental DW in that size. Ran the same size on previous tires Michelin Pilot Sport.

I'm on A-Spec suspension.
No rubbing sir.
Stock from factory is 235/40/18.
Most people on here go with 245/40/18 for a little bit of rim protection.
My rims are 8.5" wide, so the 245 looks normal on a 8.5" rim; not meaty or anything. On a 8" rim, 245 actually gives it the meatier look, and the "rim protection".

For those that have/had 245/40/18 tires, were you lowered, and if so, how much?
From what I've read the 245 will provide more protection, but speedometer will be slightly off. I'd like to get 245s, but not if they cause rubbing when I drop my car.

its only 1.5% too big...so instead of traveling 60mph, you will be traveling 60.9mph...even at 120mph it will only be off by 1.8mph. thats plenty accurate for me, especially when the stock speedometer sometimes isnt even perfectly accurate

My primary concern is rubbing. Since my car is still at stock height, I want to make sure I get a tire that won't rub once I drop it 1.5-2"

Thanks everyone for your input. I just bought some Nitto Motivo 245/40/18 for $700 out the door from Discount Tire with their replacement certificates and installation. Getting my Aspec wheels next week and then installing everything a few days later. The next mod will be lowering on Tein SA

Just had some 245/40/18x8.5's put on my car. Looks good.... but I think I will go with 255/40/18x8.5's next time. I like the meatier look. I'm on stock suspension but plan to go Aspec suspension sometime in the nearish future. I don't think would be be anywhere near rubbing as long as you do a reasonable drop.

You won't be close to rubbing with the 245s you ordered unless you add spacers. Be sure to post pictures when everything is installed

FWIW - I had 255/40/18 on my 8.5" A-Specs for 12 years with no issues.
