What rims should i get?
Hey all, I have a 2002 TL-S and I am having some serious issues deciding on a set of rims. I'm not sure if i should get 19s or 18s and if i get 19s will they rub? (consider that i have not touched the suspension) I was looking at 18 inch Antera Type 309s but a 19 inch Axis Hagen set looked kinda nice. I would probably get chrome. If you guys have any recommendations, feel free to let me know, and do you think I will have issues with 19s cause I dont wanna have to buy new tires every week. Finally, what do you recommend as tires go? I know michelin and pirelli are quality brands but I was wonderin what else is good out there. Thanks guys.

This is an aged old issue... you said you haven't "touched" the suspension... do you plan on it? I have 19s (and I love them), but when I first got'em... the car looked nasty... I have 235/35/19 tires... which gave a real big gap between the top of the tire and the fender (front, back wasn't that bad... but still,). It didn't look good at all... I finally got it lowered about 3 weeks later...
As for deciding between 18s or 19s... it really depends on the road condition in your area, and your driving habits too. There a lot of "pros" and "cons" to gettin' 19s... but I don't regret it at all... I think if you look for it... there's a "tread" in this forum right now... titled "...Anyone here regret getting 19s?" That might help. I've seen 18s that looked great!!! In fact... I thought they were 19s from far away... People have looked at mine... and from a distance... thought they were only 18s

One real important thing you must look into... is: offset. That makes all the difference in the world.... (my wheels' are at 51mm).
I think it's "Super Street" magazine this month has a wheels buying guide... to different brands with specs: sizes, offsets, color, bolt patterns... and for most wheels... prices.
