Volk valve stem caps stolen!
So I spent Sunday claybaring and NXTing the car. When I started on the wheels I noticed that one of the valve stem caps was missing. I checked the other three wheels and they were all gone. Some POS must of stolen them.
So now what, should I replace them just to have them stolen again? Should I just use those plain black ones? Myabe I should get a set of those cool neon caps? I'm sure no one would think of stealing those.
Well I checked around and looks like it will cost about $40 to replace them. Not cheap but not terribly expensive either. I look at it this way, if something bad had to happen to my car, I'm glad it was something that at most will cost me $40 to fix.
So in closing, if anyone knows a cheaper source for Volk valve stems, no one sells just the caps, please let me know. Thanks.

I just got this info from a different thread, and I can't remember who posted it first, but...
there are these "pilfer-resistant caps" at griot's:

They aren't Volk valve stems, but you can get Acura ones

however, if there's a way to get it off, they will be stolen if wanted real bad.
i use the cheapo trick, spray black plastic caps with bright silver paint. from 10 feet away they look like chrome caps

Burning Brakes
this brings back a pretty funny incident when i still had my BMW.
I had 18" Multi-piece AT Italia Rivas. They are the ones with the rivets.
One of the rivets is actually the valve stem. you needed a special key to
be able to unscrew it from the stem.
I was walking back to my car at the train station when i noticed a bunch of kids
staring at my wheels. they were all trying to figure out how to get my nice
valve stem caps. they all naturally ran away when they saw me coming.
i just smiled since i saw them as younger versions of us...trying to dress up
their bikes like we do to our cars.
i probably would not spend $40 to replace valve stem caps. i would look for
a cheaper alternative. if it is colored, i'd probably just paint the cheap ones.
good luck!!

Oddly enough, I have been fearing this exact problem...for those who don't know, these valve stems are engraved with the Volk name on each one.
My friend had this issue, and he contacted Volk directly (Mackin Industries)...they sent him a bag full of caps....not sure what he said to them, but maybe try them direct if possible.
