Angry Very frustrated choosing wheels.......

ok I don't know about you guys but I'm having a VERY hard time finding and choosing wheels.

Everytime I find a wheel pattern I like, I go hunting for any wheel with the same pattern with the right offset and the right price.

For example, I was looking for Altstadt I wheels, but the price was a little too mucch for me so I decided to look for similar ones, I found Ace, Alt, SSR, etc...but the thing is that the offset were either way off or the price was too high since I live in Canada and the Canadian doller sucks bigtime.

Then I decided to give up that search and look for 6 or 7 spoke wheels. Something that looks like the 5zigen fireballs, or the ADR GT-Sport. Well after looking around I was only able to find wheels with 40 - 43 offset. The ones with about 45 offset are the 5zigens but they are a little too pricy for me once again, and with a 45 offset that's pushing it a bit.

I'm willing to dish out about $1300 USD for 4 wheels. I pretty reluctant to order from the US since I gotta pay for transportation, customs, waiting time (summer's almost here!), and the crappy exchange rate.

And as every day passes by I get more desperate to find any old wheels and get it over with.

I'm looking for 17" wheels with a 46+ offset or higher which are affordable. Anyone wanna help me out?

Well...anyway...just venting my frustration!

What about the CL-S rims? You can get a set of those for well under your price range (used of course). I just saw a set for sale here in the forum too.

Other than that, when you said 1300, did you mean just for the rims? or tires too? And what about size? Keep in mind that 17's are way cheaper then 18 or 19. And what about the Compinato (spelling) S6 or S7? You might be able to go that route. Those look sweet.

My best suggestions, but a set of lightly used, well taken care of rims from an enthusiast such as ourselves. You can find awesome rims, and awesome deals from those looking to go a size or two larger. I am getting 17's beacause of the potholes, and road conditions here in MA. Besides, 18s and 19s are too much dough for me to justify on a lease!

Good luck, and email me or pm me if you want to talk more about choices; I have been looking for a year now.

Are you willing to spend $1300 for rims and tires or just rims? Is that inclusive of tax and shipping?

Also, is your car lowered, or do you plan on lowering it? If so, how much?

If you want help, you've gotta be more specific.

The 5zigen Heidfelds are offered in 1-piece 17" on Tim's website. They are about $240 each. Check them out.

Check out the Kreuzer Series V at this site.

Don't know how much, but they have a 17X7 with a 50 offest. This is where I bought my rims and tires. Vic will probably give you a good deal on some P7000s with them.

If you are not planning on lowering your car, it seems to me like you can go with a lower offset, as long as you don't increase the diameter of your tire. However, once you get rims, I think the wheel gap is going to drive you nuts and you will eventually get the Comptechs, which don't drop your car too low, just enough.
