so I just dropped of my car to my installer and I showed him the firestone sheet and he said that u have to run negative camber in order for the fitment. I asked if raising the car would work and he told me it would look weird raised and told me u have to run negative camber. as you see before I got the firestone alignment I was at -2.4 and -1.9 and it was running pretty good would those specs be fine as a dailey driver? once I put the 4 type s wheels and tires in the rear I was getting rubbin thou once I took them out I was fine. with the negative camber am I gonna ruin my tires? should I raise the car ? is it gonna look weird? idk what to do I don't wanna ruin my tires wear.

as long as toe is spot on, which your toe is spot on...you wont have camber issues...

Andrew and I both run - 2 camber in the rear.

and I TOLD YOU ALL OF THIS BEFORE HAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
you are going to have to play with

- camber
- ride height
- fenders

I am running approx. -1.5 camber in the front and -2.5 in the rear after I put my car on coilovers. I don't believe there will be any excessive wear on the tires from the 1 degree increase over stock. I plan to rotate the wheels every 5k miles with my oil change. This is a big advantage of running a squared wheel setup.

a good alignment tech will never leave you fucked up.
a good alignment tech will always try his best to get toe in spec.
bad toe angle is what causes camber wear.

with that being said, i have no clue what you were trying to convey in this post. front and rear different? are you speaking of camber?

You are almost exactly where I am with regards to fitment, so if you have -1.5° in the front (natural from a drop), and -2.5° in the rear (again, natural from a drop), you won't rub at all, or have minimal rubbing in the front. I used a camber kit in the rear to bring it back to -1.5°, and have no rubbing in the rear with my 265/35.

That's pretty normal, but I rotate mine every oil change. I also get an alignment once a year.

i also do about 6k rotations, or every oil change.
it's important to always keep an eye on your tires, so you can spot trouble early on

It depends on the tire you use, and your suspension settings. I do a lot of rotations and alignments because I like to run sticky tires, if you're running crap from WalMart then it's probably not as critical. Since you bought fantastic, expensive tires, I'd probably do your rotations at every oil change, and do yearly alignments.

Soo i jus drove down the highway for about 40mins one way 30 mins back crusing doin 65-80mph bunch of dips and shit nothig crazy i didnt really hear anything. Then i jus got back and was jus checkin around and all seemed good until i got to the front passenger and i saw minor rub of the tire barely anything, if i look top to floor i can see the tire does poke out and on a bounce it could rub. Its right by the fender meet quarter panel but the inside is all
flattened out .

what do i do? Stiff my front suspension?

Do nothing, sounds about right. If you don't have a little rub, there is too much room .

if you are not happy, continue to play with variables

I don't have any rubbing right now, so I can't wait to get my new 275's and rub, then play with it until I don't rub. After that will be 285's, more rubbing, and more playing. I think I see a pattern here. haha

haha look what you did!!

this is typical of the wheel game though. people always think you just buy a wheel and put it on haha (well it is like that, unless you care about your stance being non-oem and doing it right)

in all seriousness, what are your wheel and tire specs again? too lazy to look back. also what is your hub to fender measurement distance? (this will tell me how low you are)

haha there's always something to fix! (or tweak)
like i thought i was done for a while on my car, but nooo someone tells me i'm crazy for having my original hid bulbs still in and sure enough now they look faded to me. so now i have cbi bulbs i have to put in which requires taking off the damn bumper. so now my wife is like what's wrong now?! haha (doesn't help we have a newborn and it's very hard to get car time in now!!)

haha i talked to a few people outside of this forum that i have a lot of respect for regarding TL maintenance and they all said 6-8 years max. i looked at some recent pics of mine and my switchbacks look brighter than my hids haha and my hids do not look oem color temp anymore. they all laughed when i said i was on original bulbs. i bought the cbi bulbs from theretrofitsource for 110 and they are supposedly best of the best

you should have gone 225 tires on those wheel specs, they are too big.

your other options besides new tires (i know you just got new ones) are:
- shave fender tab...did you do this yet?
- add more camber...i'm guessing at least 2 degrees in front
- increase preload to the numbers i mentioned

I'm showing the crown of his tire to be in the exact same place as mine, so as long as he has -1.5° front and back he should be ok. Could take a little more than that, but he's right on the line.

every car sits different though with bushing quality, suspension wear and tear, etc.
for example, i did a ton of research for my xxr set of wheels before i bought them. i talked to 3 people that ran 235/40 on 18x8.75 +20. so i purchased 235 and guess what? they rubbed like crazy. i had to sell my almost new tires and get 225 cuz it was driving me crazy.

talked to another guy since then and he is fine with 235 similar setup and alignment specs. then talked to another guy with same situation and he had even more rubbing then i did. the lesson i learned is you can get close to thinking about your car will sit but each car is slightly different

but i agree i would try for -1.5 or more up front before buying new tires

yeah no way im getting new tires, its really not an issue im like -2.4 in the rear and -1.6 or so in the front. its so minor that im not even gonna really worry about it. I might make the front a little stiffer.
I checked under my front fenders and it seems like its as flat as I can get it. ill double check again but I think im pretty good. I check my tires when I get outta my car and ive hit some pretty good dips in the road and hasn't rubbed. theirs a very faint smooth part on my tire. I will post pics later
