Type-S rims on a Base model TL
I have an '07 base model TL and I was just told that two of the stock rims were bent and one to the point where it could not be balanced. I'm online looking for replacement rims and got to thinking I'd like to go with the darker colored Type-S rims rather than the base ones. It might be a no brainer of a question but would I be alright using Type-S rims on a base mode?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Great, thanks.
I was on ebay and saw what looked like a pretty good deal. A set of four type-s rims actually being sold by a dealer in CA, packaged and untouched for $880.

Yeah, I'm not even 100% sure if I'm going to pull the trigger on them or not, but I just wanted to make sure they were compatible with one another. $880 is significantly cheaper than what they'd go for if I were to order them through Acura ($1240).
Also, if I were to buy the rims would they be able to take the tire pressure sensors off the current rims and use them on the new or would they "require" new sensors. I don't see why you couldn't just use the current ones.

If the sensors aren't broken and/or reading incorrectly then yes, you can swap them with no problems.

^^^ If you can get OEM wheels at a down-low price, pick them up and have them refinished. It might be cheaper overall-in the long run.

I bought my car when it was a year and a half old and they were all curbed. Got them refinished for $375 and they're still pretty much flawless, except for some light scuffing from guys who don't know how to mount tires.
And OP, if you're willing to drop $880, maybe consider going aftermarket. You can get some nice 18's for not much more. Of course then you'll need new tires as well.

Just get new wheels at wheelsandcaps.com
They're high quality aftermarket but brand new. You can get almost any wheel including aspecs for about 120 each. Free shipping if u buy 4 I think.
I believe member csmeance mentioned it somewhere. Definitely reliable wheels and good quality.

For 900 you can find a load of wheels. You can also use Nissan g35 rim etc.... Look through wheel threads. type s rims are a nice stock rim but they a spec would be better. are you really worried about 4 pounds per room with a fat TL andyouhave an automatic not like it's super fast. You won't even notice the extraweight.
