TSB 05-050 and Tire Wear

Hey guys -

Had my tires rotated on schedule a couple of months ago at around 15,000 miles... Dealer warned tires were VERY close to needing to be replaced... I couldn't believe it when they said I needed new tires!

After reading TSB 05-050, I have an 05 Acura TL with a matching VIN number for the TSB - but I have the Michelin Pilot tires...

What can I do? Almost 18,000 miles and tires completely worn..!?! That's ridiculous!

Suggestions?

Thumbs down

Just got my 04 fixed yesterday!! I put on Avons last April...took a long trip with a full load and by August they were shot. I brought the car to the dealer and the never told me about the TSB. I found out on my own last week and demanded new tires. They said they will only do the service and the alignment..that's it. I'm out another $700 for Pirelli's. To top it off, when I pick up the car yesterday, they tell me they ruined the molding inside the doors that runs up along the back seats. They have to pull the back seat out to install the new bump stops. So now I have to take the car back again next week!! Also, when I go to check out how bad the damange is, there is grease all over my back seat (parchment color). It looks horrible. I went back in to complain and they said they will detail the interior when I get the molding fixed. I'm so frustrated I could kill someone. I plan on writing letters, making calls, etc. It's a joke. I have also recieved great service from this dealer, but this issue has really changed that. On a positive note, the car runs great. Make sure you don't get charged for the new alignment. Good luck..keep us updated.

I got into a long brawl with Acura regarding this TSB. I have uneven rear tire wear on my Aspec Yokohama's that were installed by the dealership. They dont want to cover and I have wasted enough time going up the chain of command with Acura. They wont cover them and that's the last time I stepped foot in a dealership.
