TPMS question on TL Rims

Hey guys,
I'm wondering if you can help me with the following question ....

I have a 2008 TL base model which has the TPMS; I picked up four used rims from a 2004 TL base model (to be used with Winter tires this year).

Would I be able to install a new set of TMPS on these 2004 rims? I would appreciate your help on this. Thanks in advance.

I was under the impression that the 04-05 wheels won't work with TPMS, but I may be wrong.

Here is a thread on the topic: https://acurazine.com/forums/tires-w...-wheel-601718/

One poster makes a good point, if you do it they'll be harder to balance. The 04-05 wheels are smooth around the face of the rim, the 06 have an inset at the valve stem. It's possible that it reduces the weight of the rim in that section and the TPMS sensor makes up the difference?

Here is another thread to support this: https://acurazine.com/forums/tires-w...c-rims-597184/

A tip for you, search using Google rather than the site's search feature. Here is the format I used: <site: acurazine 04-05 wheels tpms>
