Tools for seasonal tire change
is a trolley jack and perhaps a couple of 2 ton jack stands good enough to do a seasonal tire change (planning to use my breaker bar and sockets for bolts)?
i don't have any intention to do any other work under the car, so i don't really want to shell out for a floor jack. also, asphalt driveway so can't do too much lifting.
i'm sick of lugging tires to mechanic's, messing up my upholstery. it's easier to just roll the tires out of the garage, and i've got 2 sets of tires to change

I used to do my tire swap outs and/or rotations on previous cars in my driveway with my Wally World jack and a couple of jack stands. Just make sure anytime you are next to the car, there is more than just the jack keeping the car off of you.
I am assuming a trolley jack is what my Wally World special was. Better than the factory jack, but still not enough to inspire confidence.

For seasonal use, a basic trolly jack is perfectly fine. Most people will say jack stands are required but with a trolly jack you most likely won't even be able to use jack stands. Reason is that it's not big enough to jack from the front subframe and if you jack it from the side, you are alrdy occupying the jack spot. Plus, the wheels are only off the car for like 1-2 minutes during the swap so if it's a good trolly jack you'll be fine without stands. Just don't work under the car

Is that true that you can't get jack stands in with a troll jack at the front and rear jack points? How high do you need it to get jack stands under?
Yep, have a torque wrench, but maxes out at 80 pounds, right at the limit
