I'm from the RL forum and wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on what the color code is for the TL A-Spec wheels Hyper Silver/Smoked Ebony/Grey Gunmetal or whatever you people refer to now. I was wanting to refinish my OEM A-Spec wheels on my RL this color. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

theres no paint code for that color as paint codes are a set standard. This is why refinishing wheels is always so tricky. Best to do all 4 at once so they all match. It'd be very tricky to refinish one to match the other 3. I don't think that's even regular paint, I could be wrong on that though

yeah, i planned to do all four rims/wheels. i'm just trying to get an easier option for the refinishing shop but i will have to talk with them to see what they can do.

You're absolutely correct. The original name for this type of finish was Euro Chrome, as it was clear-coat with a small amount of black paint added, shot over chrome. This allowed the chrome to show through from underneath, giving it a depth that a standard color could not duplicate.

Some companies are getting pretty tricky with it now though, I know BBS has a finish called Diamond Black Clear that LOOKS like this type of finish, but is a standard paint, just like any other. But this Acura wheel has a stage-painted finish for sure.
