TL on 16x7 SSR Type C

I borrowed these wheels from my friend because I am considering getting an ultralight wheel setup for my TL. These wheels with tires were 31 lbs per corner! I loved how they felt under accelleration but they did not feel so great cornering. The sidewalls flexed too much and I could feel the car plowing into corners even at low speed. Part of this is because the tires were 195's and not geared for performance. I may purchase these and run 17x9 up front with 255/45/17 and 17x8 in back and run 235/45/17. I have tried the reverse stagger by combining my BBS RC's and Wedssports and LOVED the performance! Reverse stagger FTW!

Great drag racing setup! But as you said, not sure how well they would fare in the corners :/ I know first hand the feeling of too much rubber on the sidewalls in the twisties (see my monster truck tires); it's not a good one haha

Neat to see! First 3G to try 16"s!

Swoosh (Anil) will be on this thread soon, I can feel it!

And thanks for posting this, stealth! Way to show Acurazine that it could be done!

edit: nvm apparently TLDREAM did it before, but you're the first one I'VE seen!

16's look pretty goofy on TL's, but damn those things are light. 17" stock-sized tires alone are 25lbs. each.

For my drag racing setup I will run these SSR's in the rear and my BBS RC's with 255 pilot super sports up front.

The 16's were a tight fit over the front calipers, but the nice thing about the SSR's is that the spokes bend outwards to accomodate larger calipers I'm sure SSR took this into account when designing this wheel.

Yea, these wheels are stupid light! 11 lbs each.

They do look a little small on the TL but I think the fact that they are dark gunmetal hides the small size somewhat.

am here

a little late but well...those 16's dont look tooo bad....if they had a 16x9 and if you could run a little lower (lesser) sidewall, they would be $$$....and yeah thats what am talking about 27-30lbs a corner is the shit !!! that would be ~75-80 lbs less that my current setup
