Question Tire Sizing - Help Needed

I'm going to go to 18"s (Motegi MR4 Gun Metal). I see a lot of people using 225/40 18 and the recomended size is up to 245/18. What are the advantages of using the 225 or 235. I'm also using the A-Spec suspension.

Thanks

Chris

245/35/18

You can check out the fits on discount tires direct.
You can buy a taller tire so you will not have you lower your car.
So 245/45/18 may fit a little better then the 245/35/18
But if you are going to lower your car go with 245/35/18.

Thanks... but I'm mainly confused by the width issue. Some people like 225, some 235, and 245 is recomended. I'm not lowering much (A-Spec = .5 to 1" drop), but I am confused as to why all the differences in tire width.

Thanks

Chris

225 is for the older generation TLs.

245/40/18 is ideal when the car is dropped.

Pretty much, although whether dropped or not, 245/40/18 is ideal. 235 is what Acura says, but you run too much risk of scraping.

Thanks, I'm probably going to use Motegi MR4 (gunmetal) 18"s and the 245s. I was curious as to why the 225 / 235 / 245 would effect the height, but after viewing I see it's more of the 40 / 45 factor. 245 / 40 tends to look real good.

Thanks for the advice.
