Post Tire size HELP

Ok guys, I'm new to the acura scene. I had an 09 civic si that was slammed with 17x9 on 205/40/17s. I have an 07 acura tl type s that I'm wanting to slam not exactly on the ground but no finger gap. This car is my DD and I was looking at getting 17x9/9.5 or 18x9/9.5. Need help on what tire size I could run and it not rub the fenders. Will probably be rolling the fenders but if I can get away without rolling them that would be best. Only reason for asking is the stock tires on my tl are 235/45/17 and the stock ones on my si were 215/45/17. Not many people in my area with slammed tl's. Any help is much appreciated. Any pics to justify will be a help too.

It depends on your offset and camber. It's possible to slam the car on 245's with everything else catered towards that goal. You really need to search the gallery to find a wheel/tire combo that appears close to what you're wanting, then PM the guy about his specs.

so, your goal is to stretch tire?

if you did it once on your SI, why cant you apply the same knowledge to the TL?

sorta, and because an the tl's tire is a little bigger and i was told you have to keep the size a tad bigger than on the si's. other reason being my tires we're so stretched that the tire actually came off the wheel causing me to wreck so i'd rather not have that happen again.

stretching tire is the same concept NO MATTER the vehicle.

you can throw a stretched 215 tire on the TL's stock wheel

I wouldnt do it, as you found out, safety first. but fuck it, you're going to do whatever the fuck you want....

I like my tires beefy.

i mean i know i can stretch the fuck out of a tire but i don't wanna have something happen like that again. so i was just wondering what people are running mainly. i definitely don't want tires that small again. i was thinking either 225/40s or 215/40s.

tires are proportional. that means you over stretched the tire.

you're going to have to do some math here.
you're going to have to figure out how small of a tire a 9,5inch rim will take.

then, it all depends on how far you're dropping the vehicle.

it isnt a one stop process rather an on-going process to get the correct look.

try a 225!

i'm aware of that. the only reason i'm asking is because when i bought my wheels that are 17x9 a 215/45/17 wouldn't go on the wheel. so i just wanna know a good size that will actually go on the fucking wheel. and i didn't blow the tire it came off the wheel itself tires were only 3 months old. i honestly don't care to stretch a tire but if i run 17x9.5 it's gonna have to stretch some or it won't fit.

9.5 is pretty wide. I have a 255 on mine and they are slightly stretched. They really need 265's on them, which I'm getting next time. A 215? Bad idea, but I'm not going to choke you over it. I would imagine with a +22 you'd need hella camber and a 225. I'm certain there are guys here that have done it, you just need to find them.
