Tire rotation

I have about 12K on my '08 TL and thinking about rotating the tires. My questions are:

1. Should I rotate or let the fronts wear and replace?
2. Should I rotate front to back or criss-cross the rotation?
3. Is there a place underneath to place the jack stand(s)?
4. What is the recommended mileage to replace stock tires?
5. What kind of mileage can I generally expect from stock tires?

Thanks for the info.

1. Should I rotate or let the fronts wear and replace? Rotate to get even wear on all four.
2. Should I rotate front to back or criss-cross the rotation? Criss cross as long as they aren't directional tread.

3. Is there a place underneath to place the jack stand(s)? Under the side rails at the jacking points.
4. What is the recommended mileage to replace stock tires? When they are worn down to the wear bars,
5. What kind of mileage can I generally expect from stock tires? Certainly depends on how you drive.

Depends on if the tires are directional. If they are directional you can't rotate criss cross.. you can only go front to back on the same side.

Yup, like Elegant Type S said, check whether your tires are directional...

Most Extreme / Max Performance tires are directional...

Personally I don't like Directional tires...

rotate them every 5,000, and if they aren't directional, then cross the rear to the front, and have the front move to the rear...

That's how I got my Stock BS RE030 last till 30,450 miles... something not usual...

Also if you are getting this done at the dealer, make sure you ask how much they charge cuz I was looking at my invoice this morning and they charged $19.95 to rotate the tires...what a friggin rip off. Doesn't discount tire or tire barn charge like $10? Or less?

Do you jack the car up in the middle and place jack stands behind the tires (jacking points)?

I wouldn't. Jack each tire up and place a jack stand underneath.
