Tire Rotation
Tire Rotation
I'll be taking my car in for a free safety inspection at the dealer on Thursday, I thought I would get the tires rotated since I have about 7800 miles on the car. Here is my question: should I just have them rotate the tires or should they also be balanced at that time. And if they are balanced how do they get the inside weights off the wheel and is that a big mess to clean up since I assume they are glued on. I've never had a car with the weights on the inside. I would appreciate any of your thoughts. Thanks
If you don't feel any vibration, and if nothing feels like it has changed since the last time they were balanced or from the time you got the car if they were never balanced, I wouldn't mess with them. Just get them rotated. The rotation diagram is in the owner's manual.
If they move weights, they should be able to clean the goo off for you. A good tire shop should do a complete job. If they don't, it's not hard. Just use goo-gone, or even WD-40, then clean the wheels and you should be fine.
