Tire Recommendations?

My 2004 TL just hit 24,000 miles and my EL 42's are about shot- time for some new tires!

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and have a different car to take skiing, so all-weather is not important. I'm most interested in a good balance of performance and quietness. I will most likely be selling the car within a year, so durability isn't a major consideration, although I'd like the tires to be in good shape with another 8-10K miles on the car. In terms of price, I'd like to keep it in the general range of $100/tire. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

As I said in a couple other threads, Im a big fan of the continental extreme contacts. They are just under $100 a tire at tirerack.

Sign me up as another Conti fan. I have about 3K miles on my Conti ProContacts and absolutely love them. Smooth, quiet, decent grip, and the price can't be beat.

Thanks to all for the helpful replies. I'll be doing a little tire shopping this weekend!

loving my General Exclaim HPS
rated mud/snow by unique tread design that does more than the standard V tread, but designed as high performace summer tire that works ok in occassional snow conditions

They stick- and if they have your size- great price
