tire fitting?

i'm having a bad night. i was driving out and after a couple of blocks, potholes popped 2 of my tires.!!!!! 2 fking tires. good luck i noticed it and drove it back into my garage. i was wondering if my brother's 05 tsx spare tire would fit in my 07 tl tire. im so fucking mad. also can the city pay for the damages for the damn pothole that caused damage to my tires?

That sucks. I don't know if the city has any liability in these situations... I'm guessing not. Dunno if the spare from another car will fit your TL but if you're considering running one two dough-nut tires, that sounds like a bad idea to me. Does your insurance policy offer reimbursement for towing? Hopefully you purchased road hazard insurance on your tires (one of the few times I actually pay for an extended warranty of sorts).

So....what size tire and wheel? Likely not OEM. The sad truth is that even 17" wheels result in sidewalls so short that there's little protection for the rim or tire. Ergo, tires get destroyed and rims get bent. (Check your rims....) And you've got -0- recourse to the city.

This is the price we pay for wheels and tires that are really just "male fashion statements" rather than optimum performance hardware. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm not kidding myself. Sooner or later, my 18's (A-Spec) are gonna get get munged. All you can do is make sure that you never have below spec tire pressure, and maybe run a couple pounds over spec. In So Cal if I set tire pressure when it's 70 degrees it will be five pounds low when I get up the next morning when its 40 degrees. So there's real risk for the first few miles until the tires warm up. That may have been part of what happened to you. Not sure.

You just gotta pay to play.

The Bro.
