20's can be done on the TL, like many state it can look horrible, or it can look nice...
2006 TL 20x8.5 +35 in the front, 20x10 +45 on the rear, Front tires are 225/30/20, rear tires are 245/30/20. Ride is rough, and have to avoid as many potholes as possible to avoid breaking the sidewalls on the tires (have had bubbles numerous times).
Lowered to max on Tein SS, rolled and pulled front fenders, rolled rear fenders and shaved the tab on the rear lip kit.

I did have 19's back when I bought the car in 06; then decided to change it up in 08 when there weren't as many people on 20s. Ride comfort comes with the perks of having EDFC!
I have driven on these wheels for over 50,000 miles and never once bent a rim (knock on wood) though I have had bubbles in the sidewalls, but that would come with 19s as well. I drive cautiously, but don't place other vehicles or my passengers in harm. I would rather have a busted tire, than to cause a collision or worse.
You don't know until you try it, that's all I will say.

18s or 19s is the max I would ever go on my TL... 19 is pushing it. The TL isn't a big widebody looking car so 20's on it looks out of place. Now if it was on the 4G TL or the newer Maximas than they would look just fine, but the TL is too small in my opinion to be putting dubz on it y0.
Most people just put 20's on their cars just so they can say "I got them twenties on my car bruh". Like the wheel size is a bragging factor, even if the 20's they have on the car looks like shit. Or the car they are driving is a piece of shit. Not saying that's how you guys are, but I do feel that most 20's look like shit on the 3G TL. Noticed I said MOST and not ALL. I've seen some nice ones too
