Me too lol. I've got the mods done and ready to install but I have yet to put them in place. Just got the potential lawsuit with the bodyshop sorted out and I need to give the car at least a month to make sure there's nothing more wrong with it. Once I start these kind of mods, anything that happens after is on me and the shop can't be held liable. That's why I'm a waiting for a bit. I'll have it functional in time for acurafest '10.

When you come up with your finished project, will those of us that want to do the same through you need to get a new set up or will your system modify whatever we have? Put another way, would the Koni Sport/A Spec setup you prefer be easily modified and could I get it now or would I be better off waiting the couple months and just changing out my suspension once?

I'm not looking to make money but I would have no problem helping out with a few units. What I've done is make the Koni height adjustable beyond the perches while travel remains unaffected. As of now, I'm just waiting and hopefully in the meantime I'll have a little money saved up to do the finishing touches. It will require modification of the Konis.

^I'm sure you could do it and I believe people have but without modification I'm sure you will be riding even closer to the bumpstops/ less travel. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct. With a-spec and Konis on the low setting you're touching the stops with the car just sitting idle. I cut my stops but they're still very close.
H&R would be worse. People do it and don't seem to complain much. My guess is they don't realize most of the higher rate they're getting is from sitting on the stops and not from the spring itself.
IMO, bumpstops are there to keep the suspension from self destructing for that time when you don't see that pothole and slam into it hard. Otherwise they should never come into play during normal driving.
With them touching all the time it throws all of the tuning out the window and the ride quality goes down.

IHC, I think bump stop technology (if we can call it that) is getting pretty advanced. You'll notice the shape of the TL's bump stop is not consistent, nor is the durometer of the material from top to bottom. Likewise, different cars have different bump stop designs, not just in length but in material as well.
Don't you think that a car being fully loaded in a turn that encounters a bump will need to have some degree of bump-stop to aid the damper which is already working overtime? Consider the point that the engineers might be considering the the bump-stop as a sort of passive damper-aid.

F2, Megan, D2, BW Racing, AMR...... these all have height adjustment built into the shock body, meaning travel of the strut is not affected. Spring pre-load does not change, either.
Whereas Tein and some others.. there is no pre-load on the springs. You just drop down the spring perch height, and the strut has to stay compresses to fit whatever height you set the springs at.

This seems like more work than it would be worth. After all is said and done and after paying someone to shorten the tubes for you, (like Marcus said, I wouldn't recommend pushing the shock body further down in the LCA as it's really not the "right" way to do it) you could have bought a good set of coilovers and called it a day. Then you would be able to adjust your ride height whenever you want without changing your spring rates.

Too bad Suspension Techniques stopped offereing thier proarms and drop forks. Heres a pic of st drop fork and a stock ef fork.
Ive got numorous sets of these for my ef's and they are awesome. Lower your car 1.5" all the way around, couple them with coilovers and you can slam a car and still have it ride suprisingly good. had my db1 lowered 5.5" at one point.
these are the rear lcas.
I have no idea why they stopped making these. thier great parts. I stopped at thier SEMA booth numorous years in a row between 02 and 06 and asked why they stopped making them. Never really got a good answer.

Those drop forks would be great and I'm guessing not too expensive. They would lower it without changing ride quality and suspension travel. It's basically the same thing I was doing by knocking off the tab on the Konis and lowering the car by shoving the shock a little father through the fork but cleaner and no modification needed.

Im not gonna lie. I havent even had the wheels off my tl yet, so I really have no clue what the suspension is all about on these cars, but these pieces for the older hondas are perfect. When i approached ST I was always talking about the older cars and they just wernt interested in making parts for 20 year old cars. With the amount of people on this forum, maybe we could start a petition and see how many people would commit to buying a set (iirc, I paid 350 bucks for a set of arms and forks) and once we get enough people (and someone in thier area to donate a car to design them on), maybe we could persuade them to start making them again???

TL front uses a fork to connect shock to LCA. rear shock mounts directly to the hub. i can see a fork being developed but a solution for the rear might be a bit hard to come by.
ahhh the good old ST drop forks and rear LCAs. i remember graduating to koni yellow with ground controls ST drop forks and ground control top hats on my DA9 integra. great stuff.
im surprised i never happened upon this thread. a lot of people don't realize if whatever corner is loading up on the bump stop the effective spring rate becomes infinite amongst other things. my first lowered car was my 93 integra. when i initially lowered it with some cut neuspeed race springs i figured its low.. .it doesn't lean.. . it handles better than anything out there... WRONG.

So....What I am gathering here is that we can effectively lower the front of our cars with a slight shock mod and retain stock travel and stock ride? Seriously?....... Then springs for the rear I guess....
