I was actually looking at the basis vs. advanced and now that I read this I may be swayed.

Springs just aren't doing it for me anymore. And I want a little firmer ride than stock shocks with a touch moar low.

Then advance may be for you...I know that when it was basics vs. ss...the basics were too soft for most.

If you're looking for super slammed and a very firm ride, I don't think Tein would be your first choice, honestly.

Firm ride is a no brainer..go with the basis........if you want maximum peformance you should look into Coilovers that offer custom or spring rate choices like the isc n1 or bc racing

I won't...
but now that you've gone lower and seen no adverse effects, i already know the wheels start turning in your head..."well what if I go 1/2" lower"...bam, drives the same.

Trust me, that's how I ended up maxed. I started off saying that slamming was stupid.

That's the thing though, Tein won't let you slam it Sure it's low, but you're not laying the subframe on the ground.

LOL...if you're talking about mine...I know you're only saying I have a little sinep cause I said you had a little one.

Since you're openly acknowledging that you CAN'T slam it, then let's stop wasting time and max those bishes!

dang...was going to make a clever comment about you being young and your back being able to handle being slammed, then realized we're about the same age.

Haha. Nope. I'm 21

I'm just trying to pick out a camber kit and get everything in order. Also need to find a good alignment shop with a reasonable lifetime alignment price and an ground alignment rack...

damn what a hassle.

I don't trust them to do that. My brother was telling me of a guy around here that does everything by hand, old school, he doesn't use a machine.

Yeah Austin, don't listen...

Go get your alignment from the guy that uses a protractor, the horoscope section of yesterday's paper and his lazy eye to get it within specs.

That might have worked if you had a 1985 F150...but with small tires/wheels and more complex suspension...the tolerance for error is much smaller. Gawd I miss doing things the hard way...it was always so much more relaxing and less costly!

has anyone here had any experience with Tein Super Street coilovers?
I found a set on craiglist for $500, not sure if I should pull the trigger
or save up for a better set of coilovers.

Tein ss are really good also....the tein advanced is the new version of it....

Used suspension is very shaky to buy because you don't know if they are defective or how many miles they really have.....good to buy from someone you know or a reputable member from azine!

500 bucks is a real cheap deal.....

Check the black market a friend of mine is selling his (abp_04tl) his only has 6k miles

Quanaman I think if you remove that red center dot of the wheel it will really change the look of the car...it takes away from the rims

I like the red...it just clashes with the amber diffuser in the headlight.

I bought used coilovers once, they ended up being misrepresented and were blown and missing parts. Lost $150 in shipping to me and back...and ended up having to buy new. Unless you know the person you're buying from and trust them...fk used suspension.

Unless it's just springs. A spring is a spring is a spring.

Yeah I was always scared of buying used suspension because of that. I've been screwed over before with other stuff so I'm always hesitant to buy any wear items used. I got my H&R sports springs used tho

I'm not sure why but I love the red center cap lol. They came chrome but I covered them with red vinyl and put white "ACURA" decals on it. I didn't want to put BBS caps on replicas so that was my second option. I see what you mean by it not matching the diffusor, but the plain chrome centercap is so boring.

Maybe I'll have some black Acura logos made and put those on.

Here's what they look like up close

I started sanding one of the lips down last night with 220 grit..it came out alright but I of course will have to hit the other 3 with the same 220, then all four with 400 grit and 600 grit.

I'm hoping that and some aluminum polish is all I'll need to get that mirror finish...
