TEIN SS or TEIN SA

A zine,
I'm in the market for TEIN coilovers, but I am at a crossroads with which product to purchase. Sitting flush, with a comfortable (like stock) ride is my desire. Btw my wheel specs will most likely be 18x9.5+22. What would you guys recommend? Are the TEIN SS worth spending the extra bucks or no? Pics are welcome

Tein Street Advance are their newer version of coilovers that have more damping adjustability. They can go stiffer or softer than the older SS version. They offer the same drop IIRC. It's a no brainer if you're buying new.

If they're the advanced version then why are the SS more costly?

Tein SA drops 0.3" lower than SS in the front. Same (2.6") in the rear.

Tein SA is a no-brainer, they're the updated SS coils, they're cheaper and offer more adjustability.

You either need to buy new top hats or reuse your stock ones. I only had 27k on mine, so I just reused them.

If my car has 118k miles, should I get new top hats?

There's no reason to buy new top hats unless you need them. I wouldn't waste your money. We've never had anyone yet need new top hats. People buy them for convenience so they don't have to disassemble their old struts but it only takes a few minutes to do. I'd recommend the TEIN SA so you have the damping adjustment.

We have these good in stock.

I dont think there is a need for them. only if the bushings are worn out. They do make a Type-S rigid bushing which are firmer than the stock base top hats. read the message above from XLR8.

I bought brand new top hats because its just easier to install and don't have to touch your stock suspension....save time and everything is brand new no worries...

For car over 100k and older than 05 TL I recommend new top hats,I've had friends that have to buy new ones because stock parts are all corroded and stuck to the shocks shaft..
