Tein SS and Koni Yellow owners chime in
Ok peoples, I have been rolling on some Teins now for about 1k and just hate the ride with a passion. I adjusted the settings to 16 and 15 for the front and back but I still get jolted on every freakin pot hole, road warp etc etc.
The Bay Area roads are horrible and right now Im begining to think that Teins are not the best for the roads I travel.
I am running 20s on 30 series tires, so I know that doesn't help.
So I am to decide what the hell to do and I am torn.
Should I:
A: remove the teins and just go back to stock
B: invest in some Koni Yellows and comptech springs
C: remove the 20s
D: other suggestions

^ I'm also in the Bay (880 and SF are the worst of them all! )and I'm on Tein Basics... this suspension is too mushy. I'm on 35 series tires too and on dubs. I'm thinking that you might wanna try some 'conventional' spring and strut assemblies. I've only been in the Basics, but the spring on the coilovers being short as well doesn't help. I'm actually looking for stiffer suspension now. haha Looks like we're going in the opposite direction. You look into an A-Spec suspension? I think it's slightly lower than stock, but slightly stiffer? Can't be sure, I've never rode on them.

I've run Konis with stock springs and now with a-spec springs. Konis with stock springs give you a nice range from stock soft to pretty firm.
If your roads aren't that good, Koni shocks with a-spec springs work very well. IMO, it's a great balance between performance and comfort with adjustability. I think with a softer suspension and broken roads your handling will actually improve so you're not giving up performance by going softer. Even with a-specs and the Konis at 1/3 of the firm setting, broken freeway sections are still annoying but acceptable.

What part of 80 are you riding through? I have the Vacaville to Benica and that stretch in Fairfield is killing me.

^ It get's bad going towards Emeryville and then getting on the Nimitz Freeway... that stretch until Hegenberger is the FUCKin' WORST!... I think I dented my stock 17s going too fast on that freeway... and plus, all around Berkeley is horrid.

If road conditions are a problem I would say take off the 20's.
Get something smaller so you can get bigger tires for the bad
road conditions. just my 2 cents

OMG! BERKELEY IS THE F'IN WORST!!!! I love my 20's but the bay just aint the place for them on the TL. Has anyone ever seen some shops stick some type of square piece between the srings to make them stiffer i guess. are they bad/good?
