Tein SS Initial Adjustment

I'm getting ready to install my Tein SS's. Is there are recommendations on where I should set the lock rings before installing or do I just throw them on and adjust for height?

TEIN includes specific instructions with diagrams and details. I would recommend installing it where TEIN recommends. There is a measurement you will need to take from the bottom locking perch to the bottom threaded portion where the weld is.

Thanks Josh. I read where it says set it to 1 inch and then check for 13 inches from the fender to the spindle. I didn't know if there was more to it than that.

Thanks. From what I can tell, 1inch puts you at stock height and less == drop.

I'm over complicating this in my head. Just need to do it!

TEIN's recommended drop is 1.7" F&R IIRC. The 25mm is just the measurement from the perch to the weld. That isn't the drop. You will see what I mean when you look at the instructions.

Another question about the EDFC motor install.

The instructions say to remove the manual adjuster, remove the set screw inside and replace it with the one's in the bag. There is no difference in those set screws. Other installs I read about said the EDFC screws were longer and gold in color. The ones that come out are black, the ones that are in the bag are black and are the same length.

Then it says to place the hex of the motor inside the set screw and turn the motor 3 full revolutions, then screw the motor onto the shaft, then turn the motor another full 2 turns. Seems wacky to me. Depending on the motor and when the motor actually threads onto the shaft, the revolutions could vary while screwing them on the shaft.

Hope someone can enlighten me on this.

Got my answer from Marcus.

Set screws are the same at least for our model.

The motors go through an initial calibration which I assume screws the set screw to the top of the stem until it stops and that is the cal point for each shock.
