Tein SS click question

I recently acquired some used Tein SS coilovers. Since they were used with the EDFC unit, the silver click assembly was taken out and all you had were the black hex bolts. I decided not to install the edfc unit for now so I started to reassemble the silver click assembly onto the top of the shocks. Not fully understanding the manual and since the coils were used, I thought that the click assembly would stop turning 16 clicks in either direction - meaning if I turn the click assembly fully CCW till it stops, then I can turn it 16 clicks CW direction till it stops. I gave this a shot but the click assembly kept turning past 16 clicks CW. I then realized what I did was wrong. I was supposed to turn it CW no matter how many clicks it takes you till it stops turning THEN start counting the clicks as you turn the knob CCW to your preferred setting but only up till 16 clicks. However, the damage has been done I guess since I started full CCW till it didn't turn anymore then turned it CW.

Onto my question: Did I just royally screw up one of my coils? If so, how can you determine that the damper system is still okay? Also, if you think about it, turning it CCW screws the black hex up and towards the opening. I think the only reason you can't turn the CCW anymore is because it pushes up against the silver click assembly. I would think that turning it too much in the CW would cause more problems since your "pushing" the black hex screw further down into the opening.

Anybody make the same mistake I did?
