Tein Basics + Shorter Springs?

Hey guys...quick question...I can't seem to find the exact answer I am looking for: I have Tein Basics and I am not very pleased with the amount of drop I am getting...is it possible to put different springs (shorter) on the Basics? If so, any suggestions? I am sure this question has been answered...or it is a common sense question...I just don't have the answer...please help!

This is not recommended. Coils are dialed in to work in concert with each component, i.e., strut + spring.

Why would you want to mess with the balance of that?

If you don't like the "drop", go pick up some Megan coils, or buy a different set of struts and springs.

Yeah...I was just trying to see what I could do with what I already have. Selling the Basics and getting a whole new setup would be a major pain in the ass.

ahmen...ufortunately the way these teins for our vehicles is designed you can only adjust the acutal spring seat...which is very limited to to the fact the lower you make it the shorter the shock stroke you have...

whereas some other coilovers you can lower the entire shock/spring assy lower in the mount...physically lowering the car with out changing the shock stroke length...

iirc the megans use the later of the two...

i do not recommend shorter springs as you will bottom out the piston in the shock...no bueno! this will damage the sensative valving assy and void your warranty!!!
