Sway bar -- why smaller on the auto?

Why do they use a 17mm bar on the auto and a 20mm bar on the manual? I'm looking to upgrade my auto OEM. Should I get a used MT bar?

Probably will, but curious why Acura doesn't just use the same bar. What advantage is there to the smaller AT bar? Do they want the rear roll more so the car feels slightly more "touring" soft than "sporty" rigid figuring that is what a AT v MT buyer will want?

Same reason the MT comes with Brembo's but the AT doesn't...
