Summer Tires

Do the summer tires make a big difference? I have never had anything but all season tires on a car so I'm unaware of the performance differences. I plan on getting winter tires either way so I kind of think that getting the summer tires is unecessary and a waste.

Thanks

oh hell yeah...

I got about 8000 miles out of some 18" yokohama Paradas that I paid $600 for. Were they practical? No, but my car gripped the road like it was on rails.

A much softer, stickier summer tire is going to yield much better grip and a shorter life than an all-season or winter tire.

YES

Probably the single most important thing you can do to improve the handling of your car as well as the most bang-for-your-buck hands down!

I am running 245/40/18 Falken ST 115's and although they they may not give me 15,000 miles, they are relatively inexpensive and certainly worth every penny.
