Usually most stuff by BBS, Volk, Advan, or Rays Engineering is lightweight. Rims by Enkei Raciing is light. Ummmm....I believe some of the Work branded wheels are light, not sure about the popular Work Varianzas (spelling?) thou...

Look for Forged Wheels compared to a cast wheel. Forged offers better strength and due to its manufacturing process, usually allows manufacturers to make "thinner" wheels (just utilize less material cuz strength is inherent from the forging process) Hope this is somewhat touching on the information you were looking for. Best of luck to ya!

Enkei RPF1's. Pound by pound, they are the lightest, cheapest rim you can buy that is manufactured by a very reputable company. Although they are "MAT" forged, they aren't the strongest forged wheels, but it's still the best bang for the buck.

lighter than stock

the super hiros I am rolling on are 21lbs each
stock 17" are like 25-26lbs

I usually consider wheels that give you that 1lbs per inch rule lightweight

Wrong. Motegi Trak Lite and Trak Lite 2.0 are the lightest, cheapest rim you can buy from a reputable company...and they're forged.

Do you get better MPG with lightweight wheels ? there must be some difference since the wheel wheighs less thus taking less energy to make it turn.

how about 1/4 mile times ?

^^^Yes, you would get slightly better mileage, just like you would get slightly worse mileage with heavier wheels. Quarter mile times should decrease slightly.

Motegi TrakLite sizes are 15"x7"-17"x8", which is the OEM stock size. 15's, might be a bit too small, but you could probably benefit from the 16's!

True. But I just don't think they look like they belong on a TL. Looks wise.

Fair enough. I think the same thing about the Enkei's, even though I was very close to getting a set. The whole split-spoke thing has worn thin on me, I think.

Fair enough. I never liked them in silver either which is why I powdercoated mine. Until I can afford some "real" lightweight wheels that are -nice- .
