stock wheels problems

Hello guys, i got my car in about July 07 used. The car's rims were all jacked up with curb marks on 3 rims, one is perfect. What do you guys suggest doing? fix it? Just buy new ones (i would just get the stock 07+ ones, i don't have much $ to get after market yet, hehe) , or just leave it the way it is.

Here are some pics:

Just leave it or if you want you can sandpaper the wheels down and use duplicolor wheel primer and paint to redo them.

Or you can get them refinished/repaired. Usually ~$75 - $100 per wheel. Hell of lot cheaper than new and almost as good.

either repair/refinish them or just leave them cuz wheels are wheels. they will get curbed and what not. not worth getting new stock wheels. if you really want to replace them, get aftermarket wheels.

OR instead of replacing/refinishing/repairing them, powder coat them.

i got curbs too (used 04 bought in sept. 07) some people dont know how to park, what can i say?.. anyway-im saving for aftermarket, no point in getting new stock wheels, the cost of that puts a good dent in the cost of aftermarket wheels (19s) keep the wheels you got, curbs and all, dont waste money refinishing or refurb'ing, save for aftermarket.....

I'll apologize up front, but sorry guys; I have no tolerance for curb rash. To me, it's one of the most basic driving skills. If you can't park a car without hitting something, well...........(I know, it's always the girlfriend, wife, mother, whatever). That said, this car came with crappy wheels, and replacing them is one of the first things I'd do. But that's me; it's basically about the money. If you can afford a set of clean ones (probably like $250 to $400 on ebay plus another $60 to $100 to swap tires) the car would look so much better. If you can't come up with the dough, then you'll have to live with them. Of course, if you're not confident that you won't ruin the new ones, then it's a mute point; leave the old ones on and feel free to park with your eyes closed.

wrong size tires!

You might want to try getting the right size tires - your pics show 225/50/17!!! Stock is 235/45/17 but I would recommend 245/45/17 for more of a buffer, but you will still curb if you go hard at it!

yeah, your previous owner changed out the tires, and went WRONG!!!!. I would sand and repaint myself then when you need new tires just get the proper 235/45/17 tires or push it up to 245s

You can get them done professionally at around $100 -$120 a pop, that will get a little expensive. You can sand and repaint them yourself, there is a good thread on here about that.

Or you can buy aftermarket rims and use the shitty ones for winter, that's what I did. I bought a set of aspec with wide soft tires and used the stock rims and mounted winter tires ... although you prob won't need winter tires in the Bay Area! :-)

I would try to sell them cheap and buy a nice set of aftermarker rims ... good luck, your stock rims look like crap, I never hit a curb yet, our side mirrors even help you in reverse ... someone didn't know how to drive.
