Stock tires on TLS sucks!! Looking 4 new tires
The stock tires is rated so poorly on Tirerack. Just curious they others are using. I've been doing some research and came across these...any suggestions?
Size: 235/45R17
Type: All-season tires
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position $163/ea
Goodyear Eagle GT $113/ea
Michellin Pilot Sport A/S Plus $180/ea

I actually liked the OEM MXM4s because they generally fit my driving style and were quiet.
That said, my TL now has Yoko Advan S4s-- not quite as quiet as the MXM4s, but dry traction seems incrementally better than with the MXM4s (as it should).
Also considered the BS Potenza 960, the Pilot Sport A/S or the Pilot PS2 (coastal SoCal = summer tires year-round).

Humm the OE's suck? My 07 TL-S has 32,000 miles on the michelins and I have no complaints. They ride smooth, quiet, and wear very evenly. I also have to deal with snowy/icy winters here in Chicago with no issues. What were the problems with your tires?

I can't speak for the OP but mine were quiet and wore nicely. But dry traction was not good. Once you start pushing the car on the stock tires and then upgrade it feels like a new car. Cornering and braking traction and steering feel are greatly increased with a good tire.

Thanks for everyone's input =]
Normal driving....yes...they're great tires.....but even so, in the rain....these tires would spin even with a light touch on the gas peddle...
And...its crazy that the stock tires cost $250/ea!!!
For half the price I can go with a much better tire like the Goodyear Eagle GT for $113/ea
Is it just me???

If you like the OEM MXM4s, you will LOVE the Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires. I'm sure the other choices are good too compared to the MXM4's too.
I put only 27k on MXM4s and quite frankly did not trust them in the rain anymore- the tires were not at the wear indicators and they sucked. Even in dry conditions, I could spin the OEM tires with little effort. The new tires are like a night and day difference in both handling, rain and they are even more quiet too.
