Stock Rim Damaged. Might get aftermarket winter wheels instead?

Apparently I must have hit a good sized pot hole or a bump in road construction at some point last fall or in the spring. Had my wheels checked this spring before I put on the volks and turns out the front drivers side wheel was damaged and not repairable (bent to much on inside).

I have to buy new tires for winter anyway so this is my chance to go with different wheels for winter without having unnecessary tire expense. I figure I can sell my 3 remaining stock rims to reduce the cost of buying new rims.

My options for my '06 TL A/T: (all options require 4 new tires which I still need to research/read more threads)
1. Get a "new" Stock rim to replace the damaged one. Could be considered a tad boring and not taking advantage of the situation.
2. Get aftermarket rims. Looking at 18x8 rims.

Will 18x8 rims be ok for Winter? I'm more asking this question due to width as this will impact width of tire I put on the rim. (hmm, this could be a stupid question... aren't the stock wheels 8" wide???). I blame John Madden for anything stupid I have in this post.

Here are the rims I've been looking at (including two I've eliminated) to give you an idea of what style I'm leaning towards. Haven't checked for full compatibility as far as TPMS goes but the band method has worked fine in my Volks so not to concerned there. I'm trying to stay away from polished lips for my winter wheels.

Top Contender: Konig Airstrike Gloss Black w/ Machined Face
Bolt Pattern: 5-114.3 Offset +35 Hub ? but Discount tire direct has them as compatible with TL.

Runner Up: Touren TR9 Black with Machined Face
Bolt Pattern: 5-100/114.3 Offset +40mm Hub 72.62mm
Bolt Pattern: 5-114.3/120 Offset +20mm Hub 74.1mm
Would get +40 offset if I can get proper hub ring.

Eliminated:
Drag DR-39: Looks to similar to my Volk SF Challenges. I did not research fitment as I eliminated them before that.

Motegi Racing MR107: Polished lip but otherwise I like them. Eliminated before I checked for fitment.

Not sure about winter rim question, but I do like your taste in rims! I've been looking at replacing mine with the konig airstrikes myself...

Too flashy for me.

IMO, Get A SPECs, XXRs, or Ron Jons.

Looking to keep cost down (paying 2 mortgages) so no A-SPECS, XXR I didn't see anything I liked, and Ron Jons I'm not really a fan of except for the DT3 but those are way to expensive and I'm wanting winter rims.

As for the Konig Airstrike I'm reconsidering them as I found pics of them on a camaro and the spokes do seem to stick out to far to flow in well with a TL.

Here are the pics I found. What do you think on how far it sticks out?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.... Just wanted some confirmation. I need to figure out something soon otherwise I need to find a stock '06 rim to buy and get a new set of tires before it gets to far into fall. I usually take off my summer wheels the first weekend in October.

The 527 are definitely a no go and not to keen on the 522 but they are not to bad. I don't think even spoke wheels flow on the TL and I really hate mesh wheels. Thanks for the suggestions though, but I'm not seeing anything in XXR that I like and does not have a polished lip.

I'm going to keep looking for a set of wheels as well as trying to find a deal on an OEM replacement.

Btw, what do you guys think about the '07/08 base wheels (5 split spoke)? I may have found some for sale if they are not already sold yet.

Argh!!! I decided to stay with stock for now as the Airstrikes are a no go. I ordered a reconditioned wheel from allfactorywheels.com. I just got it this afternoon and opened up the box. I could tell right away that they weren't a match on paint (even after I emailed them asking if it was an exact match). The new wheel has a much more bluish tone to it.

I called All Factory Wheels and they were quite friendly and said they would send me a label to ship the wheel back free of charge and fully refund my purchase including shipping. I do have to say they have great customer service.

This is very irritating though as I don't have time for all this. I've already ordered a brand new set of tires (getting delivered tomorrow) so unless Discount Tire Direct allows me to return them I'm stuck with stock wheels or aftermarket 17s as a choice.

I could always have the wheels painted (or not get any sleep and do it myself), or power coated but at the cost for that I would have just gone with after market 18s. I'm to anal about my car to let myself put on the replacement wheel as is. The color is close but I've had 3 people look at it and 2 of them noticed the difference right away.

Anyone have any mind altering suggestions?

btw 42 may be the answer to life but that doesn't help me here

I just got off the phone with discount tire direct. I can return the tires as long as they haven't been mounted/balanced. At least gives me the option to get back to where I was before I ordered everything.

If you go on wheelsandcaps.com you can get a mint replacement rim to replace your damaged one for less than 150$.

Thats probably your most economical route....and the stock rims IMO look better than all of those choices...

Sorry, I have the regular '06 TL Wheels. I am thinking of selling the 3 good ones though.

Didn't see that place. I got a replacement through allfactorywheels on ebay and that didn't work out so sent it back. I found a set of wheels that I like and they just got here today. Will post up in my very old car thread or create a new one once they are on the car. Thanks for the website though. I'll have to keep that one in mind for the future.
