STi wheels on TL?

Wondering if anyone knows whether or not the 2008-2014 STi wheels fit on our cars? I have the MT so I'm wondering if it will clear the calipers? They're slightly bigger 18X8.5 +55 and weigh only 20.5 lbs. Seems like they should, since the STi's have Brembos as well, but I don't want to risk it.

It can be done, obviously, but you will need a spacer because the hub bore on the STi is smaller than that of the TL. IIRC the STi hub bore is 56.1, and the TL's is 64.1.

Yeah, the car shown above is mine. Wheels came on it. Absolutely no way you're getting the wheels to clear the brembos unless you put a minimum of 7mm spacers on. As for the center bore that is also correct. You'll have to bore them out. They're light, but they didn't really look that good on the car imo.

I was looking at the 08-14 STi 18X8.5 BBSs. They clear the brembos if I drill the hub bore, but I was against that. Some people said it doesn't affect anything but I feel it definitely changes the structural integrity of the wheel.

There is no need to go drilling the hub bore, just get a 2-sided spacer. Subaru makes their wheels +55, Acura made ours +45, there is an obvious 10mm advantage right there, and with only being 8.5" wide, you literally have 20mm to work with to get them flush. So, to be safe, get yourself a couple of 15mm 2-sided spacers and done.

Personally, my idea was to fit my old Prodrive PFF7's on the car, but decided on wider wheels because I wanted 265 tires.

I don't know of anything technical about spacers. I always stayed away from them because I've heard stories of wheels coming off since the studs don't have as much thread left. So anything you suggest I'd appreciate. Where/which spacers?

Also, what wheels did you end up going with?

Spacers are fine if you do them the correct way. If you add a 5mm spacer, then you need to add 5mm of lug bolt, it's that simple. If you don't do that, then you're using 5mm less threads, and that can lead to issues. That type of spacer looks like this...

The spacers you need don't work like that. There are 10 holes. 5 holes for the lugs that come with the spacers to bolt onto your hub, the other 5 are for using your existing bolts to attach the wheel to the spacer. They look like this...

I chose a wider wheel with a slightly lower offset because I like wide tires.

The Arrival.
