When I crank up and roll everything sounds good on my 08 base TL. But after I idle, like in a parking lot, bank drive through, etc. I get this odd moan/knock in the front end. I can trigger the sound by lighting moving the steering wheel left and right. But it's only after a long period of idling which leads me to believe the engine heat while sitting worsens the noise.

Ideas?

 

Oh well. Coilovers, spacers, and tires getting installed today. Maybe I can locate the issue then.

you either need to refill power steering reservoir or rebuild the pump.

check to see if fluid is at fill line, first.

 

as stated above, check the power steering fluid level. Also check your front compliance bushings and make sure they are intact.
