Steel Rims - Hubcaps Anyone?

Hi There,

Please allow me to introduce myself as a new member to the Acurazine forums; one whose in the midst’s of outfitting his 2005 Acura TL for it's first winter. I've already purchased 16" steel rims and tires from the dealer however he didn't have a hubcap that would fit the rim. I've looked in several local places for hubcaps but couldn’t find a model that would fit the rims supplied by the dealer.

Would someone in the Toronto or Pickering, Ontario area please point me to a place that may be able to provide such?

Thanks
Bob

16"? Are those not very small? the stocks are 17? Any specific reasons you went with 16?

Dealer recommended 16" tire; 225/55R16. I choose the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2's.

My suggestion is not local to where you live, but if you buy steel wheels and winter tires from the Tire Rack in the US, they can usually outfit you with fitting wheel covers for the steel wheels you have. www.tirerack.com

Any regular Aftermarket 16" hubcaps will fill those wheels according to my dealer.
Those are the types that are retained by the inner rim by friction.

The Honda Accord hubcaps are about $75 each and will require new wheel nuts with plastic rings to retain the hubcap on the wheel (Approx. $2.00 each). Please try them on before you buy them as they might not fit those wheels.

I like you selected 16" winter tires but went with a narrower thread because of the severity of the weather I have to drive in sometimes. I selected Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSI 205/60-16 which are slightly taller but will only result in an error of 0.8MPH (1.2KM/H) at 60MPH (97 KM/H)

Best regards from Montreal

He has some but I have chosen not to buy them because hubcaps have a tendencies of filling up with dirt and getting the wheels out of balance.
