Staggered?
What does Staggered means. I look it up an found out that it mean that the back wheels are bigger than the front. So you cant really rotate the tires as easily as non staggered. What does this mean for my 05 Base Tl if i were to buy a set of Staggered wheels?

basically it'd be a looks thing. TL is FWD, you be putting staggered. All Looks, and can't rotate unless you get non-directional tires and then its just rotate across and not back and forth.
Staggered is for looks and aggresiveness thats all.

It just means that if you need to replace tires than you would replace rears with same size and fronts with same size. The fronts will be smaller and the rears will be larger. It is not a good idea if you are concerned about tire wear and money since you cant rotate and get a longer life.

with the 2 above post's. I'm running a staggered setup, basically a staggered setup doesn't serve a function on a FWD but look's great. I'm running directional tire's and can't rotate AT ALL but it's worth it to me cuz I love the look of a nice deep lip on the back sitting flush with the fender's ....

another example...
8.5 width rims (front)
9.5 width rims (rear)
19x8.5 with 245/35R19 tires (front)
19x9.5 with 275/30R19 tires (rear)
quite a few members on this forum are running staggered rims & tires.

Frankly going with a staggered set up on a FWD car is only going to make it handle slightly worse then it would with a normal setup. I would never consider it because you will be dragging around those fat rear sneakers that don't steer nor push. Unless your #1 goal is looks and you're not worried that people in the know will think your a nut then stay away from any staggered setup.

Agree 100%, but if I wanted performance, I would of bought a Porsche, not anykind of Sedan... staggered is the way to go.. It looks great.. The TL is not a race car... It is a semi lux car that needs to look the part. Go stag.

If you think about it, 8/10 of the bigger size wheel's out there for our car's are gonna hurt performance due to the weight factor anyway. unless you get lightweight or stock weight rim's mise well get what you want.....
