Comptech wont void your warranty, but their drop is only 1" and that will fit 19's. 1.7-2" drop is a lot on the new TL.

The 1" drop is very noticeable. I have the drop on my car currently, and I couldn't imagine going much lower. As it is, the car has a pretty low stance, so the extra little drop made a big difference. Also, as low as the TL already sits, there is no wasy that you could drop the car 2" and still be able to clear 19s without modifying the bumpers.

not true about comptech not voiding your warranty. its an aftermarket spring just like eibach would be. neither would automatically void your warranty but if its the direct cause of the part in question that has failed and needs to be repaired or replaced acura can void the warranty on that particular part(and it is up to acura to prove that the part did cause the problem). it cannot void the warranty on the whole vehicle just because you changed one component. you might find a dealer that will buy and install the comptech components and will warranty the comptech product just as it would oem acura replacement parts.

The TL is very low as it is, going more than 1 in drop you will have to be EXTERMELY careful not bottoming out

plus that black plastic underneath the front bumper might not save you anymore as dips and ramps will scrach your car.

Definitely noticeable. See my pictures.
Plus, the ride is almost the same. Just a little tighter.

Not true...I drive full speed everywhere....barely slow down for most dips and speed bumps. Have yet to bottom out even once. I have only scratched that black plastic that hangs super low and that piece doesn't matter anyway.

Hate to sound ignorant, but, can't follow those directions. It's active and on one profile screen it is checked. Where is "Go Advanced?

When you repsond to a thread, either click the quote button to get the other person's post in your response (as I have done here) or go down to the response box and click on go advanced as opposed to simply submitting the quick response. When you either quote or hit go advanced, you will get several options and your signature should work.

Comptechs here also. Very Happy with the 1" drop. No more.

Take a look at a WDP/MT/NAVI http://www.pwolly.com/EBAY/Dan/car.htm

I like the look of the 1" lowering but am concerned about rubbing!! Has anyone encountered issues with tires rubbing within the wheel wells? Can anyone also comment on the performance impact that was felt from installing springs? Has the spring installation helped out with the "torque steer"??

Thanks in advance!!

You shouldn't have to worry about rubbing if you get the right size and offset wheel. I am running 19x8 +42mm offset with 245/35/19's. I haven't had any rubbing issues at all.

As far as performance, the car corners flatter and dive and squat are helped but not eliminated. I haven't noticed any differance with tourque steer. I don't know how lowering springs would help with that.

Michaelvg1 - Which kit do you have on yours? IMHO it's TOO low in the back for my tastes. In contrast, I like the drop on automata's car and he's got the comptech. If you tell me you have the comptech I'll think I'm going crazy...

I also have the Comptech. 1 inch drop. Same as everyone elses with Comptech.
Installed at Acura. $450. Like the look and slightly improved performance.

Automata's wheels look small with low profile tires, that's why there may appear to be more of a gap.
